Hey guys and gals! So, I’m new to the site. Been a member but haven’t really gone on. A friend of mine convinced me to start my build thread [thanks Troy aka TeggyGuy]. I def need some pointers so please put in your input.
This is my 2nd DA, my first was a 91 GS. I had a crazy plan on that one, awd wide body and a bunch of fancy stuff. Got all the parts for the conversion and the plan went down the hole [long story]. I had the car pulled off and crushed and picked up a new DA.
So my current DA is a 91 RS. When I picked it up, it had 220k + on it. I am the third owner of the car. Previous owner had the car for 13 years. The car was completely stock besides some MB wheels on it.
I do have some really big plans for this build and hoping it will turn out . This will be a slow build because being a fulltime student :read: kind takes a tole on me and only working part time. Well, for now. So be patient with me! Plus, it means this thread will be going for a long time.
So here’s the deal, I am building this car for road race, NASA. I start this season [in april], training. Next, year is when I will actually get my racing license to race [of course hoping to go to nationals!]. I plan on being in two classes, Honda Challenge and in PT [performance touring], or if not either or. There are no Honda’s in PT, in CO and nationally I think too. So I’d like to represent for DA’s yay! In the Honda Challenge, last I heard their leading car is a DA also. So this should be really exciting.
This is the car when I first picked up. [May 19, 2009]
First thing I did, I think within a week to a week and a half or so. I installed my suspension, chamber kit and my exhaust.
Exhaust: Full-Catback RS-R
Suspension: T1R [for a ITR, everything fit right on except I had to get rear control arms off an ITR to let the backs fit]
[August 2009]
I did my motor swap along with some other additions:
Motor: B20z2 (99k)
Cams: Crower Stage 2 272
Cam Gears: AEM True-Time
Pulley: Unorthodox
Intake Manifold: Skunk2 Pro
Throttle Body: BBK 70mm
Motor Mount Inserts: Energy
MAC Auto Tune: With no management system yet
[September 2009]
Finally working on stoppping haha
Rotors: Power Slot
Brakes: Hawk HP+
[October 2009]
New wheels and tires [used of couse] and got Energy suspension bushing kit installed. Although, I only had half of it installed. Pretty much to replace the ones that needed to be replaced.
