Forgive me if I am wrong, but arent the 90/91’s around 50lbs lighter?
I agree the bumpers are nicer, as are the colors, but all the more reason to Have a 90/91 and convert it. At least its lighter!
The specs page does show a weight difference, but it also doesn’t say which model each weight was shown for.
If there is an actual weight difference i would expect it to be from things on the car, not the actual unibody. There are additional things to those I noted above which are different and could contribute to a weight difference between years. However most of that isn’t going to matter at all if you’re going to completely go through the car and change up suspension, bolt ons, engine swap… After you go through all of that you’ve probably eliminated any weight difference due to parts which bolt to the car.
It’s personal preference really, but for me the advantages of the 92-93’s are such that I wouldn’t buy a 90-91 again. I originally had a 91 and over the years ended up converting everything to 92-93 spec (or as close as possible).
OBD1
better bumpers
better taillights
painted mirrors
better gauge cluster
better taillights
better interior
better paint colors
Obviously they are all subjective things, but in my mind there isn’t a single thing that the 90-91’s have that is better than the 92-93’s but there are many things that are worse.
90-91 have the oem optional kit. That’s one better thing Plus you can get blade silver
I wouldn’t pay more then $4000 for that car only because of the miles though

Hehe, like I said, it’s subjective. Those two things I can respect but would never choose for my own vehicle. Funny, I normally hate silver cars, and actually Herb, yours is the only silver DA I can think of that I like! My subaru is silver and I’m still pissed about that - man I wish it was white!
