Molding removal

Yes, I have searched.

I bought a set of thin side moldings for my Integra (2 door), and I want to know the methods in which other members installed theirs.

To install the door section is self explanitory; unscrew the single bolt, take off the door panel and squeeze the clips. It’s the fender molding and the rear quarter moldings that I am asking about.

What did you have to take out to access the fender and rear quarter moldings?

I gutted my car to have some other body work done, so I took them out the same way as the door moldings. I’ve been told that you can pry them out, which will break the clips. I’ve also been told that it’s possible to get clips through Honda for those moldings.

Is there another way to do it besides prying them off?

Yes…gutting the interior and depressing the clips with a pliers. It takes longer, but it works just as well.

had the door open, then i kept smacking the moulding towards teh rear of the car until all the clips came off of the moulding… then ended up breaking each clip, then installed the new mouldings…

What do you think the best way to remove the front fender molding would be? Would it be to remove the plastic in the wheel wells and access the clips from there?

yes. that’s what i did. and turning the wheel the direction of the side that you are doing will make it easier cause it’ll give you more room too
