more problems, one after another

So as you guys know, my timing belt broke like 2 weeks ago, and 2 weeks before that some assholes broke my window and tried stealing my car.

LASTNIGHT, my engine started knocking. wow fail,
took it out for a spin(3 laps) at the local track, just to see how the roll bars made a difference, and yes it did!
but on the straights where i gave it gas, the knocking was pretty damn loud.

now it knocks at idle, but very lightly, at 2.5-3grand it gets pretty loud then goes away, when the engine is under load, its constant knocking. =[

well, the engine served me well for over 3 years at 160k when i bought the car to now at 226k. It was bound to happen, especially after the timing belt incident.

anywho, im looking to buy a b18b and im pretty sure they are obd2,
my question, in order to use that engine i’d have to use my:

obd1 alternator,
obd1 distributor,
obd1 inejectors,
and everything else is plug and play?

any other info would be great. thanks!

You could splice in the OBD2 injectors if you have the OBD2 harness and you could extend the connector for the MAP sensor and use the one on the OBD2 manifold. But, yeah, basically, just use the OBD1 harness, distributor, and all of your accessories from your original engine and it should be a fairly direct swap. You will probably end up with a left over connector for the oil sensor in the back of the engine (green connector) and you won’t use the OBD2 crank sensor.

Very well put, you also may have to change your PCV location. I think you should go vtec thou.

You would be better off asking this question in the correct Stock Engine-Bay Components forum along with using a more detailed thread title.
