move the front liscense plate

this may have alredy been obvious to everyone, but i thought id share what i noticed because i saw lisecne plate relocators for like 30 bucks and alls it was was like a piece of angle iron with 2 holes in it. this method is free. and u only need to drill 1 hole. also these directions may be hard to follow beings as how im not so great at writing directions. email adress is at the bottom.
To offset your front liscense plate you will need:

philips screwdriver

lower liscense plate bracket

drill w/ bit (one size smaller than hole in lower plate bracket)

12mm socket

bolt

nut

lock washer

First, you need to unscrew the screw that holds in your bottom front liscense plate mount. Then, on the grill, if you look all the way on the left or right you wil see that it is solid in the upper hand corner.
when you decide which side you want it on, take the drill and drill a hole in the posisition of where you want the bracket mounted.
now comes the hard part. i tried putting the bolt into the hole and mounting it from the front, but i couldnt get my hand into the back to a good spot to work with. so i ended up taking off the whole front bumper. not that hard. just a pain for such a small task. but anyway, its only held on by the two screws in the wheel wells, and the two bolts (12mm) behind each blinker. takes about 10 minutes to get the bumper off. when you get it off, put the bolt in the hole, then put your bracket on the bolt, then the lock washer, and then nut. put your bumper back on, hang the plate and your done!
i will try to post pics of how it should look when finished and where it can go.
any questions email to Duckman737@aol.com

You are not only ‘not’ good at writing directions (I know - double negative) you are ‘not’ good at writing period. Please tell me you are in 7th grade or you are extremely drunk (or, a troll!). I appreciate your effort, but that was horrible! Please try again.

u no, its not like i have feelings or n e thing. i try to help and only come back with insults. so if its to hard for you to understand then keep your coments to yourself cuz i really dont feel like getin all that crap. i dont see why its so hard to understand anyway. its a frekin 30 minute task. i shouldnt even have to describe what to do unless your a complete idiot.

Old Dude, don’t you have something better to do

i no. geez. i put my email there for qeustions if u had n e. i didnt expect poeple to be boo hooing about how it was wrote. if you dont understand somthing email me and il try to help.

don’t worry about at least you tried.

P.S I can’t type either

i used 4 zip ties, and zip tied the plate to my grill. lower and on the passenger side.

yea ive read other people doing that to. i just thought if this way so u wouldnt have to see the zip ties. just a variation.

I apologize for hurting your feelings. I do appreciate the attempt to contribute something. I have not attempted a DIY writeup myself. I’ve seen pics of the relocate and have been thinking about it myself. Any pics yet? I have seen it on G3’s, not a G2. But seriously, even the response you posted to my reply is horrible. And, I have had my front bumper off before. Needed to do it when I installed my JDM 1 pieces, so I’m not a complete idiot, just old. Peace.

And just in case you were wondering: correct spelling is: license

I just saw your profile info: born in 87 and visited you ‘homepage’. I apologize again for all my remarks. It was not my intention to discourage you. Are you planning to attend the 7/10 meet in Rock Creek park?

heres a picture of my plate relocate
$13 shiped from roaring turtle @h-t.com

Nice, I bought the same one off turtle & painted it black … Only thing was, the hardware kit didn’t include any washers, which I needed to tighten the bracket really tight onto the bumper …

oh dang hehe i got some :0

whats the 7/10 meet? and where is rock creek park? im 17 years old. i just dont sit around and pick out little things like spelling errors.

What I did was jsut drill it right into the bumper with self tappnig screws and voila lol.

Looks Dope. I’ve got the classic Illegal Windsheild placement, but it hides my shift light. haha

hehe nice. but yeah. the only downfall with self tapping screws is, they tend to “backpout” after a while so you ahve to retighten. you coudl just use a botl and put a nut on the inside of the bumper but that’s more work and more permanent tho.

You are doing that on purpose, aren’t you?

Not sure I understand what you’re asking

Sorry, I thought you were purposely spelling all those words incorrectly because I was giving the original poster a hard time. You were so ‘over the top’, I thought you were trolling…

On another note though, you’re car is so nice, I would probably try driving it without the front plate. It doesn’t matter where you put it on that car, it just won’t look good. Do all provinces in Canada require front plates?

Prince Edward Island doesn’t
