Ive noticed in the last few months my fuel mileage has gone waaaaay down. i dont know exact #'s, but i know its not near as good as it used to be. i looked at the teg tips on how to save gas, but i couldnt figure it out. anyone done this? help? i think i need a tune up too, but plugs didnt look too bad. TIA
Sometimes it can be as simple as running a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through your car.
If that doesn’t work, check your ignition components and replace as necessary (plugs, wires, cap & rotor)
Check for any exhaust leak. After doing all the tune-up stuff, I was still only getting 23/24 mpg when I was averaging 27/28 MPG so I knew there was something wrong.
I looked under the car and sure enough, there was a crack on the resonator part of the exhaust. I had it rewelded and I’m back to 27mpg.
It also explains why I kept falling asleep coming home from work everyday
what fuel injection cleaner does everyone recomend?
Lucas upper cylinder treatment. It’s in a small white-transculent bottle. Green label.
Did wonders for my sister’s Escort that would shut down for no reason at idle.
Also what kind of gas are you using? You might wanna switch brands if you keep going to a certain place. Maybe they got a bad batch.

I don’t, just send them off to RC Engineering for their blueprint/cleaning service. $24/per injector and it works better then any bottled solution.
duh… RC engineering. I totally forgot about them. I plan on doing that this summer. Sweet… saved me a trip to Pepboys! Thanks.

i don’t recommend any, in the end it’ll just clog up your cat.
