OK I hate to sound like a dork but I have no clue where to install my new Coil.
Is there a location that seems to work well or is easier to install to? It seems like the engine compartments are so tight that space is at a premium.
Also has anyone had problems with the installation (wiring) of either the coil or the MSD Cap?
use some hose clamps to attach the coil to the battery retaining bars… lots of room there, plus it’ll be close to your dist. cap.
When you remove your stock coil, there will two wires on it marked + and - , all you gottas ta do is extend them and attach on your new coil, also marked + and - . I used two pieces of 16awg and ran it out through the grommet on bottom of the dis. housing. This with new 8.5mm Moroso wires and plugs was one of the most beneficial upgrades for me so far. Which is not hard to beleive since the Blaster coil provides about 45K volts where the stock is only about 25K volts, new.

how so? what mods do you have? unless you got some serious motor work or your previous ones were faulty, ignition upgrades are supposedly worthless
i am currently waiting for a new dist. cause i fried the old one by not tucking the wires in well so when you hook it up take as much of the slack out of the wires as you can mine melted all the wires in the dist. also i mounted mine under the the cai where the black box was it stays cool over their and isn’t far from dist. also i felt a big low end gain with the ss coil over stock don’t know wether it was cause my ignier was beat or b/c of its kv output . i know the saturation time on the ss coil is at least 2x better than the stock coil. i have cams which took some of the low end away and with the ss coil it really helped down low.
ignition upgrades aren’t too noticeable with bolt ons, but slap on a turbo and shoot more fuel in there… i noticed a difference!
The wires I removed were pretty bad so that’s probably why I noticed such a big improvment. As for the slappin and shootin, well, more on that later.
island teg do you have a pic of your dist. w/out the cap on?
Hey dattegbol, sorry I don’t . If you go to the MSD site they have diagrams there that are pretty good.

i got it all back together and runnin i actually only had to run the negative of the coil out through the grommet cause you can tap the power to the coil from the black/yellow outside the cap.
