my stock distributer is busted and i was thinkin of getting a MSD one… i was wonderin how much it really helps the car?:shrug:
are you talking about the whole distributor or just the cap and getting an external coil?
A lot of people will tell you that stock honda OEM replacement is fine, and can handle plenty of power and its useless to use MSD’s products. Other people will tell you that the cap and coil smoothed out the idle and increased throttle response.
Ultimately, its your car.
MSD did smooth out my idle, but I think it should be known that i’ve had numerous issues over the span of a few years with premature replacement/repair of my ignition components (3 sets of plug wires, 2 MSD external coils, 2 ignition boxes, 3 distributors, 2 distributor caps).
In other words, in my experience, MSD definately works, but causes premature wear on both OEM and MSD ignition components. So expect to replace them more frequently.
