MSD Ignition ?'s

I tried doing a search, but couldn’t find the answer that I was looking for.

At what point do I need to install a MSD type ignition?

Currently I am running:

Dinan chip
DC sports 4-2-1 Headers
AEM CAI
N1 style muffler
with plans of other engine mods.

I have also heard that a MSD will increase the compression and torque, is this true?

And my last question, To those who have a MSD or something similar, how do you like it?

Thanks for you time.

in my previous experiences, an MSD is only required in high output motors, i.e. turbo, nitrous, high compression motors.

MSD ignition systems DO NOT increase comression or torque.

i liked my MSD because of the benefits i gained from a cleaner burn and less detonation, easier to read spark plugs (nitrous) other things like the butt dyno or actual dyno will turn out very little impressions.
