I am looking for some Mugen Replica Side Skirts but I cant find anyone who makes them. I have searched everywhere on here. I am not interested in the Wings West’s “Techno R” skirts because from what I have seen, they are nothing like the Mugen replicas. I am looking for a straight, non-contoured side skirt and the “Techno R” are not straight like Mugens are. I have looked at visracing.com, grounddynamics.com, wingswest.com, and versusmotorsports.com. None of their products look like the Mugen replicas. 2 of the websites advertise pictures of the Mugen replicas but I emailed those websites to confirm if their product are exactly what they advertise and turns out, their product is more like the “Techno R”.
I am reaching out to someone who has true Mugen replicas like I have pictured below. I am going to try my best to fabricate my own with Aluminum, a TIG welder, and a break in a machine shop. Here is what I need. I need dimensions of some replicas so I can closely fabricate some up.
Here is my email if anyone can send me pictures or any information: dpintos382@yahoo.com
The sideskirts you have pictured look very similar to mine. I have the Techno R sideskirts. I think you might be confusing the wingswest RS side skirts with the techno R. Techno R is about as close to replica as your going to get. pictured below is a mugen sideskirt and techno R sideskirt:
Here you are man. The closest to Mugen sideskirts you will find. These replicas have a bunch of great reviews, I heard about them from a guy on Honda-Tech. They sell them in FRP and Carbon Fiber if that interests you.
yes. that picture looks just like my sideskirt and fitment is really tight…get ready to sand a bit to get the door to close right… that is the Techno R and so is the pictures of my car. as you can see below, I sanded down a bit where the door opens. I paid $400 for all 4 pieces TOTAL, so maybe $200 for just side skirts?
The company I bought it from at the time was JTRsport on ebay. I think they are now JP_drift_showoff. they do not have a cutout for the mugen badge on the sideskirt. the thin moldings really compliment the side skirts. something I should have done with mine…
I found that 3m tape in the door and screws into stock holes on the fenders works good unless someone drags their feet across them getting out! The tape can hold fiberglass no problem.
yes it can. make sure to get the industrial 3m double sided tape. i think it only comes as a black strip. I am using the that one and it mounts pretty good
