Ive switched the icu with 2 different units. Seat belt warning control was beeping like crazy unit i replace the icu but now it has stopped(for now). Any ideas or advice is Greatly appreciated! I would look for a grounding problem, [dash harness grounds] when one circuit, [pass. door pin switch] has an affect on an unrelated circuit, [rear window defog and/or intermittent wipers] it is almost always a grounding issue…
Also redo, [disconnect/clean/reconnect] your main grounds, [batt. to chassis and chassis to engine] one single cable on a G2, even if this is not your problem, it is a common problem on older cars and it definatly can’t hurt to rego them, DO NOT just eyeball the main ground connections redo them. 94
you could get the retractors replaced for free by Acura, but that may not solve the issue… follow fcm’s advice, but also there is a switch in the power door lock assembly that actually triggers the retractor. I got my seatbelts fixed and had Acura point out this switch and sure enough it was the issue. It sits at the top of the circular latch claspthat locks the door shut… if not fully engaged or has corroded contacts it will cause the retractor to not actuate… it can also cause the seatbelt warning light to blink and beep retardedly enough to be annoying.
Also make sure the plug the operates the seatbelt assembly is firmly attached… if you pull of the molding on the passenger side right in front of the door under the dash, there is a control module with a green and a brown plug… the green plug controls the seatbelts.
