My 12.02 Street Legal DA (NO 56K)

This is true. I guess there are alot of “little” things I’ve taken out to drop weight.

As for parts list. too much to list. but basically:

2.0L GSR block
Sleeved and bored 84.5
Eagle rods, CP pistons
balanced and blueprinted bottom end etc etc
Moroso road race oil pan
01 ITR head, stock except ST valve springs and retainers and GE cam gears

The engne itself build costed me around 4 grand canadian.

This year I’m still using the same block setup, but now I will have a portflow 3 angle valve grind and port and polish and ST valves along with my other ST valvetrain. retaining stock 01 ITR cams.

It’s all very basic really. just build it right, and tune it right, and it’ll make power and last. I build and tune everything myself. Under the hood if you incldue EVERYTHING including drivetrain. I’m probably realistically around 10G in.

Do you still have the oem lips… If so i want them please email me at vtec2ndgen@hotmail.com

Tchleung has arguably the most impressive DA on this website. The fact that he isn’t overboard with JDM items and has chosen to spend all of his cash on performance gives him big props in my book.

I would like to see similar results for my build, the only difference is my parts are custom made by me versus purchased. I just like the fact that almost everything is there, including the interior. I think for a DD car a/c is a must if you live in the south like me. P/S is a personal preference… nothing wrong with it so why spend all the money to properly do up the CRX rack?

I’m curious to know about your engine management and tuning.

White90:

Thx for the comments, I used to be big on JDM stuff, but most of the stuff was worthless IMO. The only JDM parts I have on my car are the JDM front bumper support(which I also hacked some more lol) and my JDM headlights. Both of which gives me more room and saves weight. Luckily where I live, the summers do get hot, but not toooooooooooo bad. I can bare heat pretty well. If I could have kept power steering, I would have. And instead of spending money on converting to a manual rack and losing turning ratio, I did the power steering breather mod. Removed all the lines etc etc, and gutted the valve body. The car with 225/45R17 drag radials turns only a little bit harder then a manual rack car with drag radials.

I’ve always been about looks. But then was swayed into performance. But in the end, I strive to have both, and I think I achieved it. Even the paint job on the car is almost the OE paint code. only one ingredient was changed, and that was going from fine metallic fleck, to coarse. Same amount, everything else the same.

what about engine management?

Currently I use Hondata S300 along with my PLX. Before S300 I was tuning with Crome, and before that ZDYNE when I was OBD0 and so forth.

Crome pro with an ostrich emulator blows away the s300.

Neptune is the newest great thing to hit the scene. If the price goes down I’m gonna rock it.

I never tried Crome Pro yet. I only use Crome with Ostrich on cars I tune for people. Frome what I’ve read, it is a pretty nice EMS. I played around with Neptune and I preferred S300 over it actually. Even tho Neptune does have more features. Out of all the EMS’s I’ve used. I do like the S300 weather it’s worse or better then the compettitors.

It’s got some nice user friendly features, but you really can do more with crome pro + ostrich. Man, I so want to run some neptune with that bluetooth shit

Lol ya bluetooth is definanty neat, but regardless of how muchthe guarentee data upload to be fine, I still prefer to be directly attached with a USB cable. I have the cable ran through the carpets and into the arm rest as well so it’s too easy to access when it comes to quickly changing some things. I am still keeping up to date tho with Neptune’s RTP release and features that they wil keep adding.

A g2 driving partner of mine pointed out the best place. There is a little access cover to the right of the center console a/c vents. I’m gonna have to get a pic of it. It just hides a little phillips screw but is flat out perfect for a USB port. Asides, my custom g3 armrest is going to house a different purpose.

I said it once before, Crome Pro with the moates ostrich is gonna kick the s300’s ass any day of the week. But neptune will just leap beyond everything we know thus far (I really need to own one). The bluetooth advantage is starting your car in your driveway, then walking into your bedroom to remotely tune it - that is tits!

Hit me up with an email or if you have AIM then IM me. My info is listed in my profile, I’d love to get some one-on-one insight from you since you’re a couple steps ahead of me in the game.
