Hey guys, i went out and took some quick pictures of the DA6 the other night. They turned out okay. The pictures look horrible on my brother monitor. i think because these pics were edited on my computer which has a darker monitor? anyway, here’s the new blue. buckingham blue. it hasn’t really grown on me yet! I love the blue interior i put in it though.
So far it’s been good. Put a lower mileage jdm b16a in and new o2 sensors out of the ol parts car.
-before the kit and paint
Not sure if these wheels are what i want with this kit. what does everyone think? they are rota grids. 16"
-the blue on the front bumper is the reflection of the wall i think…
-lights on
-lights off
-side
Still need to get the mugen spoiler painted… kind of slacking on that. $$$$$$\
I need tips on taking pictures at night like this… i’m using a canon rebel xsi. any input is appreciated!
pic of when i picked it up from the local pick a part. the black car to the left is now the blue one…
i used the complete interior, doors, fenders, tails, filler panel, hatch and powertrain/drivetrain out of the parts car… it had 50xxxkms on the odo. all that’s left of it is a bare shell now. glass is waiting to be taken out and sold to a guy locally.
i have a few parts left like a dash, belts and harnesses…
The car looks great! Here are some tips on taking photos at night:
use the lowest ISO rating possible to avoid noisy images
tripod (obvously)
Try not to use such a small aperture. A smaller aperture will give you that star-like flaring from the lights… some people like it, but i think it just takes attention away from the car.
be aware of your light sources. It’s good to be in a well lit area, but too many lights will cause you to have reflections off the paint of your car, which is really distracting.
When are you usually free? Come out with me and we can do some shots. I’ll bring out my flashes.
your xsi is beautiful and the grids are really nice. those are the ones i was planning on getting before i decided on the hm3’s and the blue is really nice. does it have a metallic flake in it?
Man that’s nice! You got that donor car in Chiliwack for $900 didn’t you? You must have ran into my buddy and told him the story. It had to have been you because there aren’t many XSI’s at P & P. Small world eh
How did you coax them into selling you the whole car? My Friend knows the owner of that place and he swears that this never happened…lol He asked him about it. What did you do to get it?
thanks everyone! I took the grids off and put my mugen mr5s back on it now.
I guess i got lucky buying the car. my friend saw it getting towed to pickapart and he phoned me while i was at work. i called another friend and asked him to go check it out. sure enough it really was an xsi. so he asked them how much for the whole car. they said 900 bucks. I had to have it! it was still in the holding yard. When i went to pick it up it was all by itself in the holding yard. pretty sad actually… the damage isn’t severe. all it need was a new rad support, hood, bumper and some wiring. But knowing ICBC they totaled it. I’m very suprised they sent that car to pickapart. The owner told me there was lots of inquiries on the car. but people just wanted the engine.
