My 91 DA9, Labor of love! I have the 2nd gen bug for sure...

Pictures up!

Hello all,

I have scattered a few posts on here, thought I would take the time to upload some decent photos of what I have done. I love seeing everyones builds… so hopefully you enjoy looking through these.
You all have helped me a ton through my swap! Can’t thank you enough.

To start, a photo of the car after I bought it. 1900$ later and I was cruising in style.

Skunk 2 pro c coilovers gave me a tremendous drop, I ended up raising it back up, twice!
[/IMG]

First real issue i dealt with was water in the trunk… since i have no sunroof i tracked it to the tail lights. So new gaskets went in, and did some cleaning underneath.
[/IMG]

When I bought the car, the rear bumper had been cut around the exhaust, all the way to the mud flap. So i sourced a clean bumper from pick n pull, and painted the trim to match

After finding oil in my coolant, I started looking for a new engine.

I found a b17 complete swap on facebook. To be totally honest I did not know that much about integras even at this point. My friend convinced me to buy the motor, completely taking the guys word that it was solid. Turned out to be a great dude, drove it out to me and everything. I instantly fell in love with the motor. Can’t tell you how many times I went down in to my shop and just stared at it. Then I got to cleaning…

A DC ceramic header, competition clutch and flywheel, and a few other “goodies” go on

[/IMG]
Motor out!
[/IMG]
Motor in! (Yes that huge “dog” rides in the back with me everywhere I go!)

A recent front shot

Thanks for looking!

After swapping the engine, Colin helped me a LOT. Want to give a shout out here… you made it all possible! Got it smogged after teh second try (california of course)

On a side note, I love my arm rest. My girlfriend re-covered it in black vinyl with new padding. And I drilled out the broken cup holders so they are totally functional now.! Also I found these seats at pick n pull, a rare find since they are usually thrashed at the junk yard.
[/IMG]

Another thanks to G2TEG2 for the VIS hood! I found it on craigslist and show up to see the baddest DA I have ever laid eyes on. Seriously so clean and an awesome experience.
[/IMG]

Here is where im at now. Pretty functional ride height (I live on a dirt road.) Spent a lot of time waxing and polishing to get it to this point.
[/IMG]
And of course one showing the new G2IC sticker. So far I dig it

Looks good man! Making good progress!

thanks!

Looking good!

So much so fast! Looking good man, keep em coming

Nice work man, Time for some 1pc Japanese Stanley lights

wow, great transformation sir. keep up the good work!

thanks guys! I can’t seem to pull away from these cars, even if I wanted to. And yeah, the jdm one pieces will be soon, when I can find some clean ones! And what am I supposed to do when a clean 92 gsr shows up for sale down the street from me… besides BUY IT. I am hoping, but don’t know what he is asking yet, or condition. Who knows, you may see a photo of it soon :hmm:

Forgot to mention, This is my commuter car. I drive 40 miles a day and did the swap over a weekend. It never left me stranded, just jiggle some wires and off we go! So it IS possible to daily a clean project, but I am in the market for a work vehicle. Dont’ want to rack up the miles on the b17

Sell me some! lol

^^ there’s a mint set on da9mafia on FB selling for good price. check it out

Hey guys, wanted your thoughts on the db2 I mentioned.

The 5k asking price is more based on his need to pay taxes. Realistically I think we would land closer to 4 if at all. Pretty unmolested, super clean interior with a manual seatbelt conversion. And original motor runs healthy, no leaks.

Yup I saw this at CL and looks clean this is the 3rd white db2 and the one with 190 plus miles the guy who bought it bought my beige floormats and painted it with fabric paint turned out nice.

Decided to pass on the DB2, it was not easy. I was ready with the money in hand, but it didnt feel right. mechanically sound and everything, just a bunch of little neglected things. hatch struts blown, no stereo, no AC, power steering leak, struts squeak, speedo cable squeals like two squirrels fighting to the death. tail lights leak. and one fender has no clear coat left. Overall its a very nice car, just didnt make sense for me since my car is already pretty sorted. thanks for the input, and they owner needs to sell this week

You guys convinced me…

Awesome! Ever since I got my 1pc headlights I haven’t looked back, nice find

Thanks! Finally getting them together. Ended up buying two sets lol  ordered the one set on eBay that’s shipping from Malaysia. Then a kid posted some from Facebook and I couldn’t resist. The eBay ones are cleaner and have the bulbs in place etc. I’ll upload a good pic when I get to my computer

That antenna needs to go! Need to find a factory replacement. Looks like the car had a power antenna when you got it. Did you add the rubber antenna? If the mast was broken, they are pretty easy to change.

It has been on the back burner I know it’s not pretty but it’s functional. The factory one never worked and at the time I knew absolutely nothing about these cars. For sure I am looking to change that.

how are you running pro c coilovers? are you running them from a dc teg? if so that would explain the massive drop
