Well I recently had a chance to pick up a 1992 Aztec Greed GS-R from a long time friend of mine that he had sitting for a while. When he contacted me he mentioned to me that the car had been sitting for four years and it was in need of TLC but in over all great shape with no rust and the car having never been in an accident (car has all OEM panels). I told him I was highly interested as I always wanted another DA for my wife as his and hers weekend cars. Well to bring a long story short the deal was done and my wife, dad and I drove to Orlando and pic her up.
Here are some before pictures, the car has some great parts that my friend installed (hes a member on here) they include an HKS Hi-power cat back. Koni Yellow with ground control coilover sleeves, Ben oggle bars, ST front and rear sway bars. So far I’ve purchased an OEM leather wrapped steering wheel (thanks G2Guru), ITR intake manifold, Top end gasket kit and timing belt water pump, new fuel filter. I’ll also be dropping the fuel tank before I try to start it to make sure its not rusted and if it is I’ve already sourced a brand new O.E styled tank.

Moved my 1991 GS out of garage while I restore this one
In the previous owners defense the car was not in bad shape. I actually got her looking decent after just one day and all it took was a good scrubbing and pressure wash and putting the bumper back on her along with cleaning out the interior. Aside from that the car is in very good shape, also remember that we are older member and we have other responsibilities to worry about besides fixing up a car. Hell I’ve actually haven’t touched the car in three weeks as I’ve had other things that I’ve needed to take care of first.
So I lowered the fuel tank to make sure it was rust free and blew out the fuel lines with compressed air installed a new fuel filter added fuel and she would not fire right up with the Hondata ECU from my 91 GS.
Unfortunately it looks like the stock P61 ECU is fried as it would not fire up the car nor my 91 GS and it has a solid CEL on. After I fired her up she had a battery light on which of course ended up being a bad alternator which I replaced this past Sunday.
Once the alternator was taken cared off I fired her up and no lights are one and the charging system is working as it should. Installed a new radiator that I was saving for my 91 added coolant, bled the system and she was running at operating temperature and the fan came on and turned off as it should. Once that was all done I took her for a drive and the Koni Yellows on ground control still ride great, the transmissions shifts nicely with no grinds and I did not hear any strange noises.
That’s awesome I picked one up about a year ago and its number 000009 I’m going to restore it as best I can it had no motor or interior so I’m lacking the b17 its also Aztec green
Nice to see 70 back on the road. I met Dwayne at the first Orlando meet that I ever went to. He had just bought the car a few weeks before. I almost picked it up from him, but I have too many cars already and way too much money in parts for the CRX.
On another note I was able to fix one of the ECUs that came with the car( no longer need to switch my Hondata back and forth). I am not awating on more parts so I can fix the original P61 ECU.
