My brake lights stay on when car is off?

I just noticed my brake lights are on? What up with that?

At the top of the brake pedal you will see a hole. In that hole is supposed to be a plastic piece that makes contact with the brake switch. It’s pointed on one end and rounded on the other. If there is no plastic piece in there, it’s because it’s an old car. They get brittle and break after a while. Go to your local Honda dealer and get one.

If that plastic piece is still there, then idk what to tell ya lol.

i also had this problem do you have to tap the brakes sometimes for them to turn off i had this same problem though like a year ago when i was in school and my mechanic teacher just adjusted i believe the brake light switch he told me to do it but i didnt know but just follow your brake pedal and you will see two bolts ones welded and the other you can loosen to adjust it look at the pic for what the switch looks like and the bolt

Wow thanks for that. I was praying that it wasn’t a short somewhere. What would you call this piece and do you know the part number?

I used these rubber bumper feet that you place on the bottom of heavy objects: Temporally only cause they will eventally fall out.

Heres is that broken plastic piece I found on the floor:

Guys I have a question. What happens when I adjust this nut:

Will it go move closer to the pedal surface as I turn the nut? I’m thinking of doing this so I can remove that rubber feet I placed on there. I don’t quite understand the picture in the manual.

Man I can’t remember for the life of me what they call them. I worked at the dealer whenever mine broke and they told me the name, but I can’t remember haha. Just take whats left of the old one in and they will know, but if those little square things work might as well use them. Save a couple bucks ya know. And as for the nut, I have no idea.

The part is the brake pin switch stopper.
The nut is to lock the brake switch in place once depth is set, [by screwing switch into bracket]. 94

just picked up one of these the other day… PN 46505-SA5-000
