my car died

I was driving home the other night and i accelerated quickly from an intersection and all of a sudden my car died and i thought i had run out of gas because my gas light was on. But luckily i had enough momentum from my launch to roll into a gas station right to the pump. So i filled my car half tank to see if my car would start if it had some gas, But no luck! My battery was working great to because i had my stereo on.

When i tried starting up my teg, i could hear the starter working and it sounded like the wanted to start up. I could here pistons firing in my exhaust. I have no idea what the problem is. could it be my distributor?

EDit: this is more of what i have done.

Thanks thusee for the info, Lastnight i decided to pop the hood and investigate. I tested the ignition wires by inserting the screw driver into the spark plug end of the wire and i held it close to the valve cover nutand sure enough each wire had spark. My fuel pump primes every time i turn the key over 2 places “The buzzing noise”. I removed my Valve cover and checked out the Timing marks on the cam shafts and they look like they are accurate, but tonight im going to turn the crankshaft over to TDC and take a second look. Tonight im going to disconnect my fuel line at the fuel rail and see if it is shooting fuel.

did you check your ECU and Crank position sensor ?

What do you mean Check my ECU? i know what the ecu is but you need to be more detailed. How do i check my crank sensor, what do i look for.

SOMEBODY HELP ME :frowning:

Under passenger knee panel on the right side is a 2 wire plug. Insert each end of a paper clip into each terminal and turn key to on position. Your Check Engine Light, or CEL for short, should start flashing codes at you. Long flash =10’s, short flash = 1’s. So if you have 2 longs and 3 shorts = code 23. Post back with results. (you may have to remove a panel or two to get to the wire plug end.)
