yea I just shelled out the 50 bucks for both the gaskets and called it a day.
The passenger floorboard in my teg gets a little moisture, but not enough to pose a problem. I’m guessing it is from te passenger side window cowl being old as fuck LOL. I’ll deal with that after I get my body and Paint taken care of.
Speaking of, project is sort of stalled. In process of looking for a new pad, & am hoping to get one with a garage LOL… I need a hovel for the teggy to be worked on. I want to strip down the suspension, pull the calipers and paint em… need a place to do it tho
been awhile since I updated this… then again I haven’t done much work to the old girl in awhile…
Today’s adventure was to San Jose Pick-N-Pull to get new window switches… Passenger side never rolled up, and recently the driver side controls were getting fussy as the contacts were worn out. I was lucky enough to find them for both passenger and driver sides between the 3 trashed tegs on the lot… almost grabbed a magnaflow exhaust kit, but found rust holes in the welds for the muffler and passed on it. had also grabbed a power mirror for my driver side and a mirror control switch as I was unable to even adjust my driver mirror… issue was the switch so I was able to not have to replace the mirror & returned the one I pulled for a store credit…
Also took time to get missing parts from my dash cowl, and other odds and ends to continue getting my interior back together.
little by slow she is coming along. next up is to diagnose my hazard lights… found out they don’t work & after looking at a wiring diagram I now know what the loose green/white wire in the engine bay I saw (when installing the CAI) was for LOL… I hate electrical crap…
After leaving work I got in my car and found a wonderful 9 inch long crack in my windshield
Called GEICO and have an appointment for the weekend to have a new one installed… people wonder why I carry comprehensive coverage on thus car… this is one damn good reason…
Anyways 250 dollar deductible and I’ll have a new windshield lol…
have to replace all the clips for the cowling so I left the windshield wipers off. Am actaully thinking of grabbing some flat black paint and giving the arms a blast before reinstallation. have the clips on order so they should be here tuesday. damn things were quite pricey for some stupid plastic clips LOL. White part was 9 bucks each and the push tab ( black part) was 7.49 each.
also found the rubber surround seal for my rear driver side triangle window at pick-n-pull have to get that slapped in, but looking like I need to pull the molding apart in the rear to get it on properly… when I tried to get it on it almost looked like it was too large for my window, but it came off a 90 LS so I am thinking the mismatch in size may be due to that I cannot get it fully inserted behind the molding.
Anyways I have to look at apartments today. Getting close to my next move date. so… next weekend I’ll continue
Well time for the next update as I got a bit more work done after picking up the cowling clips from Acura today. Decided to paint my wiper arms and get them back to black, and while I was at it spot painted the corners where the black paint was flaking off showing the OG rio red… Hood and bumper still need a temporary touch up, but the wind was blowing good and would have shot overspray over the new windshield so I skipped those for now.
pic of the clips part numbers if anyone needs em they are called the “Cowling Grommet” part number 91502-SK7-013 and are used with part number 91501-SK7-013 “Cap Assembly” (the black caps that clip onto the grommets and secure the cowling to the car.
Cowling lined up and in place
Snapping down the weather strip at the base of the cowl
All buttoned up
BLasting the wiper arms with a semi gloss black
Rear wiper arm all nice and painted
Front wiper arms painted and re-installed with Trico Force wiper blades
Area on both quarter panels that had OG red paint showing are now touched up
Not sure how much more I’ll get done before the meet this weekend, but hey that is why it is a “Project Car” hehehe… I did notice I have oil starting to leak from my valve cover ( just repplaced the damn gasket when I put on the pwder coated VC… Grrr.)
Also found out today that I was approved to move into my new pad, and after moving is done I should have enough cash leftover to possibly get this bad boy to the body shop and get the paint started around the beginning of summer.
oh boy… just found a 91 LS on the side of the road… super clean body with original paint… clean interior… 305K miles on the odometer… 5 Speed manual. looks like it may have been backed into a pole 1 time, as there is chipped paint on the bumper… Tags are from 09… if I can grab that thing for under a grand… I might be bringing home a stray LOL…
I am hoping this thing is stock under the hood… while I continue to rice out my GS I’d love to have a plain jane OEM looking DA9 also. BBest of both worlds sorta thing
Worst case I have a chick friend who really wants to get an integra and I told her she should get a DA… either way this teg is gonna land itself close to my circle so it is never out of my reach LOL…
UPDATE lady is asking for 1900 OBO… not going to spring that right now Oh Well… if anyone in the bay area is looking for a super clean teggy let me know and I’ll pass the lady’s number along.
Hahaha i meet up with the owner couple weeks back saw her driving and went up to her regarding her car. Its a pretty clean car,l engine feels good. To bad we could not come to an agreement shes pretty firm on 2k :(
yea I think she is trying to cover the $$$ she put into the timing belt etc… sounds like it is about as clean of a 2 owner teg as you will find & a great starter car for a project or build car.
I just couldn’t justify buying another project before I finished the GS…
Surprised she still has it LOL. I tried to tell her that current Market value on it is only about 1300-1400 bucks as it is only an LS
well I got a wild hair up my ass and did a bit more today after work… stopped at oreilly’s and grabbed a few things and here is what I got accomplished.
New adhesive to stick the door fabric back on ( hopefully better than the last crap)
finished product
Got some double sided “super” tape and attached my “GS” emblem
Masked up the headlights “JDM” emblem & Clear signals on the bumper, then popped off the front plate
went over the entire bumper and hood with the black semigloss I used to paint the wiper arms the other day. Figured it would look better than nothing at all I.E. half white bumper and red speckled hood LOL… Came out descent looking in the end ( at least better than it did look) and will get me by till I get moved and put asider the cash for a real paint job…
all finished up
also installed the rubber seal for the Driver side triangle window
ALso cleaned up the trash & went over the dash and everything with some armorall cleaning wipes. Did a Rain-X treatment to my windshield. Plan to get it washed tomorrow then will detail my rims for the meet saturday.

Haha I work for safelite…that window was more than your deductible?? I’ve never seen a DA window cost more than like $220 at most. That’s pretty surprising.

Let us know how that stuff works… I need to do the same thing.
for sure man… the stuff in the orange can I had was crap… only held the fabric on for a week or 2 then it peeled off… funny thing is this stuff was 10 bucks cheaper and 10 times stickier after applying it.
ur painter will be mad at you for spray painting it, i found out the hard way. they have to sand off every bit of the spray paint cuz if they paint the car and theres any spray paint on the car it will wrinkle the new paint…they had to paint my car 2 times bc of this…lol
yea… considering this car has already been spray painted by the previous owner it doesn’t matter all that much. Hell it was Rio Red originally, then repainted Metallic Blue. The black paint was a rattle can job done by the previous owner.
Any way I look at it it is going to be a project when it does go in for paint…
Like one guy mentioned at clubintegra… when I get all the pain off im going to gain HP LOL…
so for whatever reason I woke up at the buttcrack of dawn today and couldn’t go to sleep… While twiddling my thumbs it came to me… Fix your sidemarker situation before the meet dummy!.. So that is exactly what I did.
MY teg came with a broken fleabay marker on the passenger side & a USDM fender on the driver side. I’ve had the markers for months now, but have been too focused on other areas. her’s what was there before… (for driver side see pics in previous posts)
so after carefully selecting my weapons (tools) of choice I got right to it
I used some HP photo paper (as it is just heavy enough for this sort of job) masked over the hole on the passenger side to create a template to easily flip over and copy to the driver side got the general edge by running my finger nail around the edges then went to it with a utility razor.
Finished template
Passenger marker installed
now on to the driver’s side… FLipped the template over lined it all up as it was on the passenger side & masked it in place
Figured it was a bit too risky trying to snap a pic while cutting with my dremel, but here is the test fit after cutting out the hole & using a barrel sander to smooth the edges.
After that was done I lightly hit the edges with leftover rustoleum from all the painting I did the other day to make sure it doesn’t rust out on me before I can get it to the shop… anyways here the finished pics
Ya know if anyone wants one of these templates I can make more… I was going to toss the original, but hell it works so well maybe I should offer it up to others… anyways here is what I have leftover if anyone local wants it… the edges are closer to the exact side you will need to cu and show the overlap areas of the dremel.
Pretty sure I could trace a few more out on more of the photo paper if anyone wants an easy template.
it may look rough, but it definitely works perfectly.
Very nice car guy! Question: I’ve always wanted a strut bar but I’ve always worried about the ABS in the way. Can you tell me how you managed to install this brace around the ABS and what brand name is yours? Also, more importantly, do you feel a difference in handling? Or is this thing just for show?
honestly the difference in feeling & handling is neglidgeable for daily driving… whenre it helps most is driving tight winding roads ( like mountains) ot at the track, even then I still have to upgrade the suspension & replace my bushings to really get an accurate feel for how well it works. I also run a DC Sports rear strut bar in the trunk area…
Anyways, my engine bay strut bar is and OBX/Forza strut bar for 90-93 integra… this & the moroso strut bars are some of the only ones you might get lucky to find still circulating that are designed for use in the ABS equipped integras. I have been told the Skunk 2 ( which looks to be a clone of the older RSR bar) would fit ABS also, but I cannot speak to how well it works.
PasswordJDM 3 point bar has also been redesigned to fit ABS models & is a far better bar to use for serious racing applications…
well latest update… ( and this has me irritated) is that DMV determined my car needs a smog check ( again) even thugh it was smogegd just a year ago when I registered it after purchase.
to top it off they are requiring it be done at a STAR certified smog center… no big deal as it is pretty much stock with CARB legal mods except that STAR centers seem to charge 2-3x what a typical smog test only station charges…
what a load of crap… Anyways. going to call my mechanic and have him go over the motor, do a tune up & valve adjustment, fix oil leaks, etc… then get it over to a STAR shop that hopefully doesn’t rape me too badly on the smog…
I forgot to mention… this stuff has held up admirably… It definitely adheres better than anything else I have found… the fabric has started pulling loose near the top ever so slightly but stll stays pretty well stuck to the door panel.
