any have any idea why my car sounds like a wrx sti
how does it run?
it seems to run fine… maybe a little weaker but not sure…
so it’s not misfiring?
i changed plugs, wires, §§§§§ cap, and rotor button
my ef with an ls swap did the same thing…
video?
I had a 91 EF that did the same thing. I had a local muffler shop do a 2.5in “custom” muffler from the cat back. After I had the muffler installed it sounded just like a WRX. I had a co worker ride in the car with me and suggest that one of my valves was bent and should have the head rebuilt. After putting the rebuilt head back on the block, the muffler noise changed. I was thinking it had something to do the compression in the chambers.
well thanks for the info …
ill do a compression test later
sure the firing order is correct?
My old car sounded like a Subby once. 95 Civic coupe with a B18C1. I couldn’t figure why it was sounding like that. The firing order was good, timing was good, spark plug and wires were basically new, compression test was good, etc. The car ran fine, VTEC and all. A buddy of mine asked if my exhaust was stock, aftermarket or aftermarket from an exhaust shop. I told him it was an aftermarket bolt on Tanabe Hyper then asked why. He told me to turn on my car and rev it a little. He looked underneath my car while I was revving. He told me he found the problem and pointed at the flange where the mid pipe and the rear section bolt up. One of the two bolts was missing. So we went into his garage, found a nut and bolt (that happen to fit the flange) and tightened up that flange section. Revved up my car again and the Subby sound was gone. It was an exhaust leak. Funny, that never crossed my mind.
Sorry for the long story. I just wanted to share. But, I hope this might help.
haha im exhaust needs work lol so its probably that…
thanks
