my db1 project

lol i wish i had a couple grand extra rite now to just get it all done in one shot, i have a feeling its gonna take me 2-3 months to piece this motor and obd conversion together

got my ZEX NMU mounted on the firewall, nitrous line connected, just waiting for my new brackets and nozzle to come…

also i installed my PLX wideband gauge. its SICK, i recommend it to anyone wanting a wideband…also it looks like it hides my tach but it don’t. the gauge only blocks my rpms past 5200 rpm and i rarely rev that high

well dreams went down the drain today, machine shop called to tell me my head is garbage, the cam guides are all screwed and the gsr cams it had in it are shot… sad sad sad day

well besides the bad news from the machine shop got some parts in, walbro 255, new zex nozzle, and new zex brackets with rubber coating to protect my chrome bottle

skunk2 pro series camber kit, check lol…i think this weekend if i dont but this talon tsi ima have some more goodies lol

since your getting all the good quality parts, get a quality steering wheel. those ebay replica ones are garbage.

lol i like this wheel for now, i had it in my eg sedan…also since i was “bored” i ordered energy rear trailing arm bushings, skunk2 magnetic drain plugs for the oil pan and tranny and yep i got the ST front and rear sway bars coming…i need to slow down, ive put like 10 grand in this car in a year

some more updates time!! woohoo…well parts fairy arrived again lol

skunk2 cam gears, my bdl rail with aem regulator, earls fitting, auto meter fuel pressure guage, and the BWR bumper release kit

also got a GSR head now since the b16 head was garbage, now im a grand into the heads lol

and then out with the old ebay camber kit, in with the new. heres some pics

old

new

well a few more things arrived today, lets start

got my spoon hoodie and t shirt

then my skunk2 tranny and oil drain plugs

oh yea and my ST front and rear sway bars as well lol

thats it for now, got more parts coming still

I had one of those steering wheels too, but left it on top of my car and walked away like an idiot…So it got stolen. Once I put the stock one back on, I realized how much I really hated that ebay one and had no idea. haha.

Good work on your build, wish I could go off and buy a bunch of new shit. Girl would kill me. haha.

I am for sure ordering those magnetic drain plugs right now tho.

lol my wife complains but i just keep ordering and ordering haha

did you specify what size swaybars you wanted from ST when you ordered them or is only one size offered?

i wish i could buy all these parts:( all in time but as for the b20 ive had mine revvin to 8500 stock bottom end type r head no issues yet. i know if you boost your best off sleeving as for NA as long as your around 13:1 comp ratio with an good ass tune youll be fine
but props on the build its looking awesome!!

i just ordered them from summit racing, and let me tell u, im REALLY disapointed with the front sway bar, the rear went on fine, and most of the front went on fine, then i ran into an issue, it seems like one side of the sway bar is about an inch too long. also it seems to be barely touching the end links on my k tuned bars where it comes onto the control arm…heres some pics

left side, lines up rite except for the contact with the traction bar link

and now the right side, super upset about the way this turned out

i will be contacting ST directly about this

They’ll tell you to contact the seller… ST wouldnt be at fault for you receiving the wrong product.

i have contacted the seller, they wanna issue me a 10% refund for them not being green.

and as for it being the wrong product i dont think it would have fit like the 80% that it does, and the rear wouldn’t have fit, its the rite product just thinking maybe i got a bad front bar.

I think your bar is fine. you should definatly loosen the sub frame mounts and slide the bar over to balance it out from side to side. As far as clearance of the traction bar goes. it wasnt designed to have clearance for that huge mounting brace, it was meant to run with a stock bar which is a half inch thick with another half inch for the head of the bolt. cant be mad at the company or ask for a refund based on that! ive personally had this issue with my rear st bar and my asr bar. clearance issues led me too having to replace the whole bar with a progress bar setup.

EDIT: on the bright side. once the car is under its own weight. you should have a reasonable amount of clearance between those 2 parts…

Im pretty sure theres supposed to be another washer and a spacer between those 2 center bushings.

its intsalled exactly how the paper said, all the shit is used that it came with, confused me as well cuz my energy adjustable ones with the stock bar had metal spacers in them

on a shitty side note my fuel filler neck clamp wont tighten so im pissing fuel rite now lol
