My db2 project

So last Sunday i was lucky enough to buy an original aztec green pearl 92 gsr. One of my real dream cars since I had my first car (1990 ls integra). Going to look at the car I knew little about the car itself other than pictures since the owner had received it as a payment for extensive mechanic work he did to the previous owners other vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised to find original paint(still shines), original interior in good condition and most importantly the stock b17 and ys1 trans. Even better there were few modifications done to the car, only a greddy exhaust and aem intake which I plan to switch back to stock. The body needs a little work( it is a New England car) the car does have high mileage 191k however it runs great with power steering and a/c along with cruise control intact. I plan on restoring the car to having a flawless outer appearance with some bodywork and a fresh paint job. I also plan to replace all aftermarket parts with oem and to freshen up the motor down the road possibly building another b17 block to place in for when the piston rings and valve seals start to show their wear. But for now I will be replacing the timing belt and waterpump along with all the other regular maintenance components you would change after buying a used car. I paid 2900 for the car and expect to pay about the same to restore the car to its pristine showroom condition. But what do you guys think about the bodywork and what it will cost for bodywork+paint before I go to my local shops. Thanks for reading

Nice pick up! Can’t seem to be able to open the pics on the last post. Glad to hear you will be restoring it. Not too many of these left

Nice! Sweet pickup. What’s your #? (last 4 of vin) I have the Milano Red DB2 GS-R #1960. I just finished the wire tuck on it, came out beautiful!! Good luck with it. What are your plans?

BTW, If you plan on getting rid of your intake, let me know. I’m in the market for an AEM intake. I don’t have the actual OEM intake but I still have the secondary pipe that wraps around and under the passenger headlight and it even has the original screen at the end of the intake pipe. I also have the cold air tank that sits behind the passenger front fender that you"ll need if you plan on going all OEM. My stuff is mint as it was removed by the original owner and given to me. I also have the wiper motors, pumps, Cruise control complete and many other OEM goodies you might need. All original db2 stuff. Just PM me if you’re interested in a trade or whatever.

Sorry guys but either my phone or the site is being difficult right now and won’t let me load pics at this time, if you want to see some pics of my project and how it’s coming along you can find me on Instagram at @b18burr, currently I’ve obtained an oem intake and brand new oem hood bra (for only 55$!!!) along with some other miscellaneous items I needed. Il be installing them tomorrow while I do a tune up, also I’m saving my Pennies for a little body work and a nice paint job. Will post pics asap or if your an instagramer @b18burr

And my car is #1462

Today I got down and did some preventative maintenance, plugs, wires, cap and rotor along with stock airbox install and removal of an alarm that was draining the battery, went to remove my plug wires and all. 4 spark plug tubes were full of oil, so I got a new gasket set and removed the valvecover to find someone neglected to change the spark plug tube grommets last time the valvecover gasket was changed leading to grommets as hard as rock. After that easy fix I went on to the cap, surprisingly when I pulled the cap off the rotor came out with it, there was no set screw in the rotor, it amazes me the car was even running how it was. I also sourced a sunroof visor to replace the missing one. Anyway this shows how important preventative maintenance is with any car especially one coming from a private seller. Remember to follow. @b18burr on Instagram for more pics also I have an aem intake for sale local pick up in the Connecticut area only of anyone is interested

nice! I am seeing more and more GSR restore threads !!

Just added you on instagram, fellow AGP DB2 owner from Nebraska checking in!

Great work so far. It’s always a great feeling when you fix small stuff on a newly acquired used car. +1 on the preventative maintenance.
