My first car, .. the GS-R!

well all i did was cleaned up those corner lenses, (one is cracked :() i also repainted the valve cover, doesnt look to bad, i also changed my pass. door, cuz mine was bad! (just look at the pictures) i also got that plate that goes behind the heat/ac knobs! just thought id post some pics of what i did :stuck_out_tongue:

first of, the door swap, and rust pics! … i never really showed how rusty the car was, until now!

^ that was all on the last door, here is the pass. rear wheel well (quarter, w/e :P)

Here is pics of the door swap,

Here is the new door, not great, but much better than the old one…

changing over the locks,

put the nice chrome door handles on the new door :stuck_out_tongue:

I also spent about 20-30 minutes SOS’ing the spray paint off the corner lenses, looks a bit better imo…

Picture of the valve cover,

The heat/ac plate “free” from the junk yard

Also here is the exhaust with the header in, (to show you the flex pipe) … it’ll work for now i suppose :stuck_out_tongue:

i like this like Kodak M1033… does what i need it to do,

VTEC

Haha I just did a door swap myself…but I had a buddy help me and I used a jack to take most of the weight off of the door…that edge at the bottom really digs into your hand if you hold it too long! Personally I like the black door handles too :stuck_out_tongue: I would def get a real flex pipe, I just had to get a new one when some road plates ripped off my brand new exhaust…ripped the bolts clean out  the flex pipe was like $75…sucks

i swapped in the chrome ones (cuz the new door was from a GS, i like to keep them to keep the GS-R authenticity, but ya, they hurt for sure, there heavy doors surprisingly… also, i know it was just a 15$ flex pipe, it’ll do for the time being, later in the summer i’ll get it swapped out at the exhaust shop

good thing you swapped out that door… that rust was terrible… haha its looking a lot better since you first got it… props to you man. if you’re thinking of repainting may i suggest a really cheap alternative http://www.rickwrench.com/index79master.htm?http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html

thanks man, im trying to do small things before i have my g2 and get driving it (so i dont have a total POS to drive ;)) haha, but can you get oem black (for my car) in rustoleum? cuz i wanted to go with the factory black that the car came with, i think around mid june or so the car goes in for body and paint… can’t wait!!

Going for my G2 test tomorrow, hope i pass! i want to get driving this thinggg!!!

body work coming sooon : D

you probably won’t be able to get the stock color black but if you are going to paint the whole car the rustoleum black then it works hehe. i painted my girlfriends black teg with this method and it looks pretty much the same after clearcoat unless you have the pearl black

wow what a great find:drool: even with the rust

I have been offered a deal, a 90’ Integra GS, White, in pretty good shape, 148,000km (just under 100,000 miles i believe?) its got a nice exhaust (not a fart pipe) has a new clutch, seats have a few rips… guy wants to do a straight up trade, but ill seen if he’ll let me swap the front and rear GS-R seats into it, what do you guys think? my motor has 335,000km… it burns some oil, body is pretty far gone (im only 16, i dont have the money or tools to repair it) … i like it, but i would like another opinion on it… thanks

I would make the trade. It’s hard to find a low mileage da that’s in minty condition. The gs is also full optioned like the gs-r without the vtec and parts that are gs-r specific. That year gs is also missing the power locks but you could get keyless entry. Your gs-r is a nice project but with the money you have to spend and the gs-r being in it’s current condition, the gs is a better choice

ya its not like minty minty, but it atleast isnt a flat colour, and its VERY saveable, like something i could do in my driveway type of thing (some surface rust on the quarters, if i do it now and not leave it for a few years it’ll be nice) but ya, no power locks is okay, im 6’ 3" ive got long arms, doesn’t take much to lean over ahahaa, and ya i think ill ask to take a test drive to make sure it doesn’t to anything to funkyy, thanks for a “G2IC” opinion,

Get it out of the snow!

It needs some paint!

i agree, but i couldnt keep it out of the snow, no where to put it! its in some 90’F weather now, heh … and i hope to do body work as i picked up a second job (start in july) so the extra money will be put into the car (the 2nd job was for the car haha)

lollll :stuck_out_tongue:

been driving it around quite a bit, put over 2,000km on it! … i put some 15x7 +24 offset rims on it (i traded a friend, because he needed my old rims, so he could drive his civic) i still need to get the center caps for them … im not sure what brand they are… also i installed some Neuspeed race springs (on stock struts… eek.) i will post pictures soon, i love the offset of these rims

Alright so here is some pictures, its lowered on Neuspeed race springs, with stock struts (for now) also the rims are 15x7 +24 offset (can’t remember the brand) and the tires are 195/55/15 i will be getting center caps for them as soon as the guy finds them, but for now… this is what it looks like…

p.s. dont mind the people in the pictures, they wouldn’t move!

keep it don’t trade it for the WHite GS. You’ll begin to love your ride more with the work you put into it. All you really need is a simple rebuild and a paint job.

ya guy doesn’t want to trade anymore (hes doing something else with his) and plus since ive lowered it, im really liking the car, and i just got the center caps for the rims, they are CSA (made in australia) i can’t wait to get them on… just need the mounting screws!

nice man! seems like you’re really enjoying your car. can’t wait to get mine on the road! :burnout:
