My first project and hopefully my last

Hello

I picked it up about a month ago. The first day I got the keys.

I immediately needed new tires so I went ahead and picked these up for a good price, real wheels can wait. My priority was to get it going from point A to B right now.

As soon as I installed the wheels, the fender was chewing up the outter side wall of my tires so I went ahead and had the rear fenders rolled. As I was waiting I went ahead and snapped this photo.

And this photo of the wheels installed. Yes I was rolling on only 2 lug nut each wheel.

The car was riding on weapon R lowering springs in front, tokico lowering springs in rear which were both cut and turned into coilovers with stock struts/shocks. It rode like shit! I commute on the freeway a lot so I desperately needed new suspension. I picked up some function and form type one. Gave the old setup to a neighbor lol.

While we were at it, I decided to install a rear camber kit also. The last owner used bunch of random washers.

And a photo of me and some friends still going at it, we ran into a snapped lower control arm stud… smh. There was also only 1 nut holding the top hat on. Definitely cleaning up the last owner’s half job!

How she sat the next day with the new suspension. Front lowered all the way maxed out, rear is maxed out all the way up! 10kF/6k

Also got the new set of lug nuts installed (skunk2)

Wheels are 16x8 +20 offset

Engine bay work, all welded shut, sand and coated.

Prep for paint

Paint on, no clear.

With clear coat on.

Again fixing the damage that was left by last owner. One of my head light decided to go out on me. After some digging it was a blown fuse, last owner spliced/join wires and didn’t use electric tape to keep them from keeping in contact. He said there were HID installed. I looked at the bulb and they were still good. Wrong bulb set up for the head light housing though. Factory harness was cut, I decided to remove the HID. One side was a Stanley ballast and the other side was a Toyota ballast with two different bulb sizes. Oh lord

It’s been week and still no DA in the junk yard. I couldn’t wait so I went ahead and got universal 9004/9007 harness from autozone, plug and play harness from password jdm and h4h password jdm bulbs. Rewired everything the right way.

The outcome.

Took it to a local shop, had a new pipe weld on the right way! I’m running a 2.5 straight pipe from the header back to a vibrant muffler

Badge was missing so I went ahead and ordered a new badge. Won’t go on till the car is painted.

Also picked up a new spoon shift knob from a local friend shop for $20

Nice db2 man. Like the shot with the NSX haha.

coming along nicely. keep up the good work

Nice to see another one being saved and nodded with quality parts.

Keep it up!

Lol must be my twin

what size tires on there? and how are you liking the function and forms?

Thanks for all the positive comments. I’ve went through some of the build threads on here and you guys are definitely showing the DA/DB some love and tlc.

Lol I’m actually not keeping the Aztec green. I’m repainting it a different color.

I’m running 205/40/16 on 16x8 20offset with negative camber and fender rolled.

The F&F Type1 are OK, I’m going to say they are smooth sailing but can be a little stiff over major potholes. They actually do really well over minor bumps here and there on the highway. 10kF/6kR is an acceptable combo but I kinda wished they were 10kF/8kR or 8kF/6kR. On shitty roads and highway daily the height is on point but if you want no wheel gap then purchase their top hat kit along with the coilovers.

I’d be happy 10kF/8kR with F&F top hat kit on smooth roads. Crappy roads I’d go with softer spring rates.
