i dunno why but my key doesnt work to lock my glove box… it is the MAIN key as well cuz it works on everything else… could it be that the glovebox isnt the original one from the previous owner, and that the lock is a diff one?
Well it worked before right? If not, perhaps you are using a copy of the valet key? Need more information to answer the question!
If you key works to open up the hatch, then you have the main key. If it doesn’t you have the valet key.
i know i have the main key i just stated that, and no it never did work
If you take your glove box cover off, a lock smith shoud be able to change that lock for you.
is this any locksmith?
also, will they have to give me a seperate key for the lock…?
How much would they charge to do that? I gutted my glovebox a while back for some custom install and put my old lock somewhere? 
I recently bought a new glovebox in case I ever want to reinstall and would like to get that lock to work with my key. Is that possible? Where would be a good place to go.
Any good lock smith will be able the change the lock for you, so that you can keep your original key. I really can’t reccomend any place, since I don’t know of any national lock smiths. I would just ask around, to see who people trust.
Since you will be needing to have them re-key the lock, it might be a little more than just swapping locks from one glove box to the other. I’ve never had to do it, but I would guess it’s going to cost somewhere around $50.
