“One more horse, baby! Come on!” (lol, i got 2 more  )

setup:
B18A1
Short Ram Intake (3" pipe, K&N Filter)
Crower 402 Cams
Stock exhaust manifold
GReddy SP2 exhaust system
no rev limiter (though, i told them not to rev past 7,000rpms)

was 102 degrees in the garage (gay passion) and everyone’s numbers seemed a little low. “Built” K-swaps were putting down 215 at best. so i’m not entirely convinced by the numbers. but, it is what it is, and that’s what the printout says.

Yeah, go in on a cool weekend morning. Those lower air temps should make a big difference. 120ish whp is kinda… meh. If your motor was bone stock and you didn’t maintain it I would have taken 120 or less at face value. I’ve heard of motors losing 50+ hp through rough treatment… but your compression would be all fuckered up :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, for one thing, I didnt even notice a fan blowing into your motor. At least put another fan facing that thing. I’m pretty sure if you had cooler temps to deal with you might even be closer to the stock 130-140hp’s.

stock ratings are at the flywheel

there were two fans actually, just off camera that were blowing full blast. but it was definitely a very hot day. i’m not terribly disappointed with the numbers.

the factors affecting the “low” numbers:

intense heat (above 100*F)
really high mileage motor in need of a rebuild soon
piston rings are almost shot, burning oil a bit now :frowning:

next year will be a different story :naughty:
NA B20VTEC aiming at around 250whp

212,000 isn’t anything! I have 225,000 now on my stock b17a. LOL, nice vid.

damn I didn’t get to see your dyno, it was hot as hell that day, thats one reason I didn’t get on the dyno.
