My jasper build thread, G2TEG 2!

good to see a DA getting proper work!! g/l with everything.

I never thought your car had any flaws. This is gonna be goooood!

I wouldnā€™t be in any kind of a rush, my car isnā€™t going anywhere anytime soon lolā€¦ nor would I care about the finish of it as Iā€™d end up getting it powdercoated anyway.

let me know if itā€™s something youā€™d be interested in man!

Thanks man! She had a few of them that didnt really show up in photos, and I waxed her alot to keep the paint shiny.

Unified, Yeah I will defiantly keep you posted on that one. The tie bars are easy than the x bars to make, so wouldnā€™t take as long.

Wow. Your car and this thread are awesome man. You do great work. Seriously one of the nicest DAā€™s Iā€™ve ever seen. Gives me tons of inspiration for my car.

Dustin, we gotta do a photo shoot when you get her back

Looking to pull the trigger and buy the wilwood 4piston kit anyone have any experiences with the kit? And what size rims are you running? Just wondering if they will fit my 15inch Sprint Hart CPFā€™s.

Hey thanks man! Glad I can inspire people with the things I do with my car.

this is gonna be sweet when painted

lookinā€™ good Dustinā€¦now is perfect time to get a retrofit on those headlights. i still have Cortneyā€™s retrofitted headlights sitting in my garage. i canā€™t wait to see your car!!!

Thanks man! Just trying to do all the things Iā€™ve always wanted to do.

On another note got alot of parts and bolts sandblasted so I can get them painted and thinking of getting the bolts rezinced.

love this car, so nice to see such a clean DA. I love that you track it, how is it on the track? Any noticeable drawbacks to tracking a DA?

You know Iā€™ve never tracked any other vehicle so I donā€™t know a difference. The only thing is the lack of aftermarket parts for tracking them. You can run alot of DC parts but aero wise and a few other parts you kinda have to get creative.

But Iā€™ve driven with a guy in a miata and those handle very very wellā€¦for being a girl car. Just kidding those are great cars. Lol

haha yeah miatas are fun. when are you expecting the car back from paint? cant wait to see it!

Hopefully soon, I have been getting pictures from my buddy who works at the shop, and its really nothing nothing special going on they are just doing the body work on her and hopefully shooting paint soon.

Couple updates been cleaning up parts for the car when she comes back to paint.

Started polishing this little guy

Also got my Koni yellows I bought all restored, and painted it was funny I was talking to Ground Control and they said the proper color for Koniā€™s that they use is school bus yellow. Also took a trip up to Ground Control and got the new Koni tube and nuts for them and they gave me some stickers as well for the shocks.
Heres the before pictures. Very rusty and dirty

Heres the after!

Also did some work on my front crossmember. Instead of getting a traction bar for the teg I removed the motor mount bracket on it, welded up some excess holes that were there, and filled in all the pinch welds along the edges and repainted it. I also plan on getting some harder polyurethane mounts made for it or get some delrin turned down for the bushings.

Thats it for now guys, let me know what you think!
Oh and I put this picture up for everyone since I miss driving her.

Wow man, everything in here is top notch work and selection of parts . Great job! I wish I could weld, the cross member looks great. I know how much work that must have been - Itā€™s like a piece of art now :). What process are you using to ā€œpolishā€ all of these parts?

Wow those koni look brand new!!!

Thanks man! I really appreciate all the kind words! Iā€™ve always been a fan of your car just so you know! I have been reading your thread for a while lots of inspiration from your thread! Welding is always been a skill of mine since before high school, it really opens up a lot of doors on parts you can make. Thank you about the crossmember I thought it would be something different that I havenā€™t seen done before. For polishing I got a polishing kit from harbor freight it works really well, first I will sand it with some high grit sand paper then use the different polishing compounds to get it to shine well.

Iloveda9- Thanks man I just took a wire wheel on a grinder and just took all the paint and rust off. Then just painted them all up.

Also on a side note I bought a pair of bumper plugs for the car as well cant wait to get those one the car too!!

Nice updates! Its all the little things that make your build so nice. Keep it up!

love the attention to detail, i wish i could afford to treat my car the way you treat yours:P! do the best i can though
