Nice run!.. So who won?..

Can you explain these mods:

*custom non-resonated test pipe.
*rs-r ex-mag (axle back removed).

I know you passed tech inspection (because your video shows you racing at the track), however, I’m still going to ask you if this is legal? This is because you live in Canada and i’m here in the U.S.

I’ve only ran 1/8 and my best time was a 10.39 w/DC header as my only mod on a stock B18A1. I would like to break into the 14s just as you did. Therefore, explaining the mods would help me in my quest to break into the 14’s.

Also, can you put down the numbers for your run… (60 ft, 1/8mi, etc)?

How many runs and what was your average?

Thanks.

haha the girl in the civic beat me by a hair, but it’s alright cause she’s got a jdm integra type-r motor in a light car

the test pipe replaces the catalytic converter with just a straight, diameter matched pipe, (some people put a resonator in place of the cat), and the exmag is a full catback exhaust, but for that, my last run, i took off the section from the rear wheels back, which meant that i had just a straight pipe from the exhaust ports back, out through the midpipe just in front of the rear suspension.

running with no catalytic converter is illegal on the street, and if the cops find out they can ticket you, among other things.

the track officials actually cut me off right after that run… the car was waaay too loud; my ears were ringing after the run… it didn’t matter though, as that was the last run of the night anyway.

the track was busy, and they closed down early, so i only got 3 runs in… these were the first three launches i’ve done with the new wheels and tires… i didn’t have time to really get a great launch in - with my old stock gs rims w/ bfgoodrich traction t/a’s i would pull consistant 2.1xx 60’ times, but the new wheels/tires have a smaller overall diameter, which shortens the gearing slightly, and also have much less inertia, which combined made them easier to spin - in the video, you can see me having to feather the gas a little…

2.318 60’
6.318 330’
9.646 1/8
74.00 mph
12.532 1000’
14.995 1/4
91.35 mph

the 2.3xx 60’ means that there is still room for improvment… with a few more launches on the new tires, i should be able to get back down to the 2.1xx’s… they say every tenth quicker in the first 60’ is worth 2 tenths at the far end…

on my first run of the night, i spun like crazy… 15.515… second was slightly better, but still not a quick 60’… 15.163

to have a shot at the 14s, you’ll want, in addition to your header, a cai, a test pipe or high-flow cat, a properly sized exhaust, (read here http://www.team-integra.net/sections/articles/listArticles.asp?Show=1), some decent rubber, (drag radials or slicks if you’re serious about drag racing ;)), some weight reduction, and a whole lot of practice with launching… to be sure of breaking 14s, some cams and tuning will go a looong way…

you’ll also want to be sure that your motor is in good condition, with good compression, adjusted valves, and proper (maybe slightly advanced) timing… on the subject of weight reduction, i’m running without any interior from the front seats back, but the chassis and sway bars probably negate that… i also ran without a hood on the last run, but i’m not sure if i’d do it again… it helped with underhood temps for the short ram intake, and accounted for quite a bit of weight savings, but the extra weight on the front end might make launching a little easier, and the aerodynamics would help in the top end…

jesus that car is loud

that girl cannot drive

oh i know…

you got stock cam and shit???

yeah, just a few bolt ons…

that is alot of miles on ur motor to pull of wat u did mann props to u
