I don’t know if I call it right but the screws that stick out for the lug nuts to get to. I broke 2 of them. How could I fix them with new ones? How much it would be? And how difficult it is? Has anyone replace one. Thanks!
If its for the front then it little bit of a pain, but if its the rears then its a snap. I had 2 bolts on the hub that were striped, i just went to the junk yard, got the whole upper control arm assembly and replaced it with the fuxed up one.
What kind of things I can expect when fixing it? What kind of tools would I need to have? Thanks ya’ll.
ud have to take off the hub and try to bang out the old studs. replacement studs are like .99 cents. if u have a manual then you should be all good. i just had a shop do mines cuz i was in a rush. HTH
Front or Rear hub?
it is front hub.
Your gonna need to pull the brake rotor and seperate the hub from the knuckle to get the studs out. Theres also the possibility your wheel bearings will get screwd up when you pull the hub off. You will need a sliding hub puller which you can rent at autozone or the likes. Also 4 new studs. First you remove the brake caliper, then the brake rotor, also the 32mm axle nut. Then attach the slide hammer to the remaining studs with the lugnuts and slam it till it comes off. After the hub is removed from the knuckle, you can hammer out the old studs. Tap in your new studs but not all the way. Using the lugnuts and washers you tighten down on the studs till they are fully seated. Then put everything back together…If you dont think you can do this, take your whole hub/knuckle assembly down to a shop and they will do it for you for 15-30 dollars.
