ok gang, heres a shot of the new seats that arrived yesterday. ill be getting some more pics of them in the following days & ill be putting them in the car in two weeks. there a VERY few reviews on the company, let alone the seats themselves, so i’ll be sharing my thoughts with everyone here.
out with the old:
in with the new:
they are Bimarco Expert’s, the company is from poland. these are likely the least expensive, brand new, FIA certified fiberglass bucket seat you can get right now. took a little while to show up here, but hey it’s winter. (about 20-25 days) they are made to order, so you know you are getting the freshest set of dated seats you can get.
i have only sat in these on the carpet, but they feel very comforable. i am pretty skinny, 5’-9", about 150 lbs after i eat a lot. i think the width is great, there’s really not much room side to side (hip area), maybe about a half inch or so. overall fit and finish is pretty good, although not as nice as some recaros i have seen. the plastic trims where the harnesses pass through are a bit, large, that is, it seems they were meant for a thicker shell material. minor , really. the back, bottom, and front padding is all removable, with velcro strips. i suppose you could wash them, or even make your own different fabric covers for them if you wanted to…
the fabric is comparable, if not the same as everyone else, black velour. the embroidery is also a nice touch on a seat of this price, and they will even do ANY custom logos or whatever you want embriodered for a small fee.
the shell seems very solid, nice glossy black gelcoat finish. these are sidemount seats, and come with M8 x 25mm mounting hardware. i am fabricating my own aluminum side mounts, out of 6mm angle stock. details and fabrication thread in a few days.
if i can get ahold of a scale here, i will weigh them to get a real number. from the arm scale, i’d guess about 15 lbs each…??
