My new junk project.

Hello everybody. Just wanted to get in here and introduce myself. My name is Kenny. Just acquired a new project car on Sunday. Let me feed a little bit of back ground Info on myself. 25yrs old. Live in orlando florida. Been a die hard EF lover/owner since I was 16. Never owned anything else other than one exception. In highschool I owned a white 90 db1. Ended up having to junk the car. But now all these years later I stumbled upon another white 90 db1 and I just couldn’t pass it up for the price. Right now it’s a piece of junk but it’s only a diamond in the rough. I always felt incomplete with that car as I never got very far with it. All I was able to do was lower it. So this db1 should live out the dream. Hopefully quick I would like to have it driving condition by mid summer. So here’s a pic of my newly acquired db1, my old db1 (under the trailer), and my current daily daily driver (ef)

New project.

Highschool DB1

Daily

Awesome, what’s your plan for it? Funny how cars from highschool are getting nostalgic already!

Typical plans for now. The swap in my hatch is nicely going to take home in the new sedan minus the transmission cuz I want to upgrade the sedan to hydro to keep it slightly more comfy for a daily. I have wheels for it. I have suspension for it. I’ll do body work and paint. Wire tuck and engine bay. One piece headlighgs. Trunk lid spoiler. Window visors. Just simple stuff for now. It will evolve over time. But for now I gotta focus on piecing it together and doing the body work and paint. Gonna keep all of the luxuries also. (A/c, p/s, abs, etc…)

Little update. So after work yesterday my good friend wanted to go to the junkyard in search of a tan interior for his EF sedan. So I said I would go with him and check to see if there was any DA sedans in the yard. Had zero faith that there would be tho. But the gates to heaven opened and I was blessed with a DA sedan. With almost every single part I needed. Now I have a small list of only about 5 things left. I was in contact with a guy in Arizona that was going to pull parts for me from a sedan in the junkyard down there. But I was going to end up spending around $400 with shipping and “labor costs”. Going to the junkyard today I left only spending $173. And I pulled parts I wasn’t going to buy from that guy in Arizona. im so hyped for this build. Sorry for the long story. Shows my excitement.

Don’t judge my storage room lol.

Score!

Always check them man I have found some really good parts my whole leather interior came from a scrap yard here in mn and I have found a few decent Oem parts a DC header for b series I also scored paid 100$ for the seats and headers lol I mean the odds are you don’t find anything but when ya keep searching and ya do it is so worth it!

Keep up the good work!!

The junkyards down here are gold. It’s very common to find cars with all 4 matching rims, or after market parts. I moved here (orlando) 2 years ago from Massachusettes and couldn’t believe the junkyards. Compared to back home these ones are amazing. Super organized too.

Prob the most common thing to find is lowering springs or coil over sleeves.

Nice you always could go there pull them and recycle them back in the g2 community! I wish I had good options up here there is a huge scene up here so soon as there in the lot they get raided ASAP

i don’t have too much time to be junkyard hunting anymore. But if im there and come across it I’ll let people know. They get stripped pretty quick here too tho the Honda community is huge down here.

Congrats on the new project

Thank you sir!

So I found some time last week and headed over to the shop to work on the integra. Tried to install my trunk only to find out that the car had been rear ended slightly at some point and the trunk didn’t close and the tail lights didn’t line up. So I pulled it all apart to inspect but couldnt see any visual damage to the car at all. So I went ahead and started to “fix” it. Not 100% happy with the results but it’ll do for now. Trunk closes and you can’t see anything weird unless your looking for it.

Moving right along! Keep up the work. Look forward to more updates. I’ve always had a soft spot for 4 doors… my first car was a 90, 4dr, auto.

Thanks man yea sedans have always had a spot for me too. I had a blue coupe after my sedsn in highschool but it never felt the same. I actually never even touched it. Bought it as a shell and sold it within a couple weeks Cuz I had no interest. But yea I’m trying to keep it moving. Wanna finish this car by end of June. That’s my bday present to myself.

So for anybody interested in this build. I have some updates coming. I’ve kinda just been sitting on the car for a while. Gathering money and a few more parts. I certainly am not rich but I plan to have this done by the end of the year. And by done I mean running, driving, engine bay painted, and if luck is on my side I’ll have the exterior painted as well. At that point the car will be no where near a true “done” stage. Are they ever really tho.

welcome! awesome pick up. car looking good so far! keep up the good work.

Thank you!

Loving the progress. I like seeing these builds as much or more than the quick ones. I have a beater DB1, also. So, I’ll be watching this one, for sure.!! :salute:

I’ve got some nice updates for you guys. Too lazy to upload pics right this moment. But basically I’ll be revealing my big idea for the project. I’ve gathered some parts. And I’ve chosen my paint color. I’ll have the paint by mid week im just waiting on my buddy to grab it for me with his discount. Color will not be revealed until it’s benn painted tho lol.
