My project is a 91 LS special I was doing a engine swap but friend bailed on me so it’s taking me longer than I want I’d to get as clean as I can. But I don’t have an endless amount of money to spend lol. but I’d like to hear some feed back from you guys and suggestions on brands to use. :burnout: right now I’m dropping in a B20B with a 6 puck clutch kit next I want to do breaks, rotors, and a strut tower bar.
you have two options.
- do what you want (the things you can), mess up and learn from it.
or - do it right the first time.
Personally, I’d pick the first one. Because as tempting as it may seem, when doing it right the first time, there’s always one nut or bolt that’ll hold you back and frustrate you. I usually just read as I go. I learn a lot that way. Obviously, the more you read, the easier it will be once you see it in front of you. Since you’re doing a swap already, I’d go ahead and clean the bay since it’s already out. There’s a tegtip with the wire tuck if you’re up for it. With the engine, you’d probably be safer if you can fork up the money and do all the belt and pumps. I’m not familiar with the b20, but make sure to hook up all the coolant lines on the intake manifold before you put it in (i learned the hard way that it’s very hard to stick your hand back there, let alone manuever it). you’ll love it once you take ownership.
If you want to go fast, dump money (wisely) on the engine. If you want to go slow and look good, shiny is the way to go. I’d find a middle ground.
for the brands: it really depends on your budget - and our integra got the short stick when it comes to aftermarket. civics and dc2 are much more popular.
OEM - what people love
Just take your time on it and enjoy the experience. you don’t need brakes if you car haven’t moved yet.
Thanks for the advice!! The car should be rolling in the next week or two it all about putting everything back together but the brakes and rotors are a must before I can drive it. They are horrible lol
