GENERAL At The Track

went to the dragstrip lasnight for the first time in over a year. pretty fun, there weren’t many people there so in 2 hours i got 8 runs in.

mods-
-jdm b16a
-rs*r header
-intake
-2.25 custom exhaust, high flow cat
-mugen spec chip
-weight reduction (to the car itself) i still had a trunk and backseat full of shit)
-14" civic hx wheels on some dayton tires haha

i have exact numbers in my car i’ll post later but my best 1/8 time -

reaction - 0.8xx (OUCH!)
60ft - 2.4xx
1/8 et - 10.3xx

i was hitting 10.3 - 10.6 all night. i know my car is capable of much better times. one shitty run i sat there on the line spinning but i got a 0.3xx reaction time. if i had that reaction time on the run posted above i could possibly hit a 10 flat. also if i took all the weight out of the car and fixed the rear mount (i got bad wheel hop a few times).

not bad considering my buddy with a b16a in a CRX on a 50shot of nitrous gets high 9’s at the same track. i’m pretty proud of the G2. it was the fastest honda at the track that night besides the bikes.
i suck at launching this car, i either spin too much because that ECU lets me launch in vtec or it doesn’t spin enough and bogs. i didnt do it at the track lastnight but i can get the car going really fast if i launch high and spin for just a second, take my foot off the throttle so the tires catch, and slam the throttle back down.

reaction times don’t effect your final time. Try getting those 60’s down and you’ll be ok. What psi were u running?

i left the tires alone, i know thats part of my problem…probably 32psi. i forgot my gauge. last year i went i used to lower it to about 18-20psi and clean out the trunk and inside the car.

any suggestions on launching? i have adjustable coil overs too, i thought about lifting the rear of the car so some weight would distribute to the front of the car.
