Your holding out!!! I can feel it!

be sure to join us at the sixflags great america meet june 14th we have a thread open!!! click here!!!

Like I’ve been trying to say, the last few months have been really insane for me. Making the job change was crazy on the schedule, and stressful as hell. And, of course now that I have a job in the auto world, I have to spend a billion dollars on real tools (can’t take my tools from home…I need them there!). I’ve been spending a lot of time comparing snapon, mac, and matco tools, trying to figure out what to buy from who, and which tools I can get away with just using craftsman. My job change and catching up with things around the house have completely consumed my schedule. But, the good news is I wasn’t kidding when I said I was so close to making progress that I could taste it. Yesterday I was thinking to myself, “Man, I need to bug my future brother-in-law to make those damn flanges”. Today, he surprised me with these…

He says it took quite a long time to properly machine out the groove for the gasket/metal o-ring that seals the turbo(s) to the manifold. Now, the hardest part of the flanges is done, and they look beautiful. I drew the outline for him to cut them out, and one of us is going to figure out how to position and drill the bolt holes properly.

I should be making progress with the rest manifold REAL soon too. I know this really is almost nothing for progress, considering how long it’s been, but I see today as a big step.

O, and I’m going to try to get the car done for that six flags meet! We’ll see what happens!

very nice pieces, looks like quality work.

yes! great to hear that things are going well. after looking at the flange, and the turbo, i feel like mocking on up using CAD. lol just to see if im understanding your turbo config correctly. I don’t know what your future plans are, but this would be a nice project to show off at a university, or a grant agency. FTW

Any progress?

Bump for an update

yeah dude, we need an update. i have been waiting with bated breath for far too long. any news at all?

update??? its been over a month

I’m glad I just spent the last 30 minutes reading this thread… You are a genius…
Looking forward to the progress and seeing you at Six flags.

Did you get your father’s diesel running on vegetable oil?

update?

cmon man, you cant start crazy shit like this and not follow through. lets get some UPDATES!

Alright alright. The truth is, I avoid posting on here because my last several posts have been nothing but explainations as to why I havn’t made any progress yet. Unfortunately, the reasons remain the same. It’s depressing really. I just always have so much on my plate, that as much as I desperately want to work on this project, I just can’t. I thought with school getting out, I would have more time, and I do, but I still have so much to do. The reality is, i can only do so much.

Here’s where I’m at with my car. 98% of the money needed for this project has already been invested. It just needs TONS of work. But, before I can even touch my car I need to finish a long over-due project that has been sitting in my driveway since I got out of school. Then I need to overhaul the garage (not easy when you have as much stuff as me, jammed into a single car garage). Then I need to strip my car down to bare firewall and replace the main wire harness to put it back to OBD1, as it should be (long story, don’t ask). THEN, I can FINALLY begin making progress on the TT setup.

But until the day comes that I make progress, I hate to keep everyone on the edge of their seats, waiting for updates and a final product. I promise that when I do move foward with the car, I’ll be posting updates, mostly with pictures!!! Until I do, just… standby:tapfing:.
