i had this problem for years it dont rain much in so cal
its starting to get on my nerves my wipers hit the car when they go down makes a loud noise.
then when they go up they hit the the edge of the window before they go down again…
when I put the wipers on high the wipers will go up fly off the window and then to back down very hard. so i keep on low all the time.
wow thats weird… i hope someone can help you with this. if anything you could put some stoppers in there or something…
it might be that you have the wipers on the wrong side. in the summer time i take off my wipers, then if i was to re-intall them wrong, the drive side would hit the hood. that might be the case. just take off both wipers and switch them from left to right/right to left.
have you tried readjusting them? maybe they aren’t secured tight and when it reaches the end of motion, the momentum lets the arms travel a bit further than it needs to?
i have tried i did not see anyway to adjust them.
i just trying to to switch them around made it worst
mine used to do the exact same thing…i never looked into it though…
Did you get the right length
Readjust from the nut that holds the whole wiper arm on. Try loosening the nut and putting the left one a little closer toward the cowl and the right one higher toward the roof. I’m guessing your left should be hitting the windshield trim and the right one hitting the cowl.
I had the problem on my 1st DA and never fixed it. Then on the 2nd I messed it up when I fixed the plugs under the cowl and had to readjust until it was right.
hopefully you dont have to get a new wiper motor, but that might solve the issue.
i have readjusted them they are the right size blades i have tryed diffrent sizes. they are just bug me…
one side is suppose to be shorter. its 20 on one side and 19 on the other.
Its your rods inside that are broken. I had the same issue. the rods are like dog bone joints, once the plastic joints fail thats what happens. If you take off the plastic cover under the wipers you will see them, each with its own rod.
