I have a 1992 DA with about 226*** motor and chassis, i have a full exhaust and headers and an intake, so i want to rebuild my motor, ive found a rebuild kit that i want and i dont know if i would be able to run it safely or if im going to need hundreds of more dollars to finish it.

they will raise my compression from 9:1 to 11.40:1.
So i guess what im asking is am i able to run p73 highcomp pistons in a A1 block?
do i need anything else for the motor like a tune or injectors, rods, ecu? will i blow it up?
so if you can tell me if it would be a good idea and if it will work that would be great. or what all i would need to run that high of compression.
I have also done tones of research but have not yet found anyone trying to put them in a b18a1.
Type R bearing kit wont work with your non-vtec engine im pretty sure, and to fit those pistons on your rods they will need to be machined by a shop.
If i were you id look at either pr3 or p30 pistons, they will fit straight on and raise your compression too, cant remember numbers off the top of my head tho.
If your doing the job yourself, take your time and double check all clearances etc and you should be fine, it will definantly need a tune to make the most out of it. (depending on how much you bump you compression too)
Dont forget all the small stuff youll need when doing a rebuild (ill be doing it too soon and the shopping list gets longer and longer)… things like arp rod bolts and studs are also worth paying alittle extra for just for piece of mind.
Try not to skimp on the gaskets either Oem is the best by far I just did a rebuild in my daily front rear main seal, water pump timing, oil pan gasket valve cover gasket all Oem believe it or not there not that much more then the cheap ass eBay package bundle if your already doing to best to do Oem and I went to o’riely for my first oil pan gasket and 455 miles in, it’s already leaking from the oil pan gasket by the oil pump I got the cheepO and I got a leak…
