Im looking for a quality alternator for under $200 thats a upgrade over stock. Would prefer 130amps but 100amps would work. I was looking into getting the denso reman but decided to get more power. Can anybody sugest me to a online store that sells them for 90-91.
I did a search and came accross the name of somebody who sells them rebuilt but im tring to find other options.
Thats expensive. Do any of you guys have experence with alterstart? Ive noticed the ones u get off there website give lifetime warrentys and are advertised as “new” vs the 2 year remans sold on ebay.
Car is eventualy gonna get a amp when the money to buy it comes around. Also the current alternator will make the occassional chunk noise and stop charging. So since its time to replace I figure I might as well upgrade.
And if your going to ask, i got 2 1000watt rms subs. So i think 130amps to power one decent amp for them would do good. Better than tring to push it with a stocker and a cap.
i was about to suggest the alterstart too, but i have no experience with them. i need a bigger one too, and i decided i wanted to go with the 150 amp one.
EDIT: Just out of curiosity what are the da9 alternators rated at ?
65 amp at high output. Maximum output isnt always the most important thing. Because anyone can make a alternator put out a lot at high RPM, but at idle is where you want high output because your car runs at low RPM almost all of the time. So I reccomend requesting a Power curve that has a good high output at Idle. just something to think about. Also you get what you pay for.
