any one have an idea where to buy the metal for getting my qurater panels replaced i cant find them anywhere
I might have a drivers side, if my current buyer continues to flake.
you should put this in the commerce section of forumn…also you could check junkyard:bowthank:
Finding a decent G2 in a Saskatchewan wrecking yard is kind of tough. At least that was my experience when I was still living there. I expect that finding one with pristine quarters is going to even more difficult.
I suppose you could ask around at some local body shops (or ones in Regina or Saskatoon) to find out where they buy their replacement body panels. Just don’t expect an OEM fit out of the box when using an aftermarket or “jobber” panel.
Why do you need to replace the entire quarter? Rust? Collision damage? Or are you just looking for patch panels?
Did you try ebay? Or they don’t ship there?
oh thats right i didnt even read that he lived in canada somewhere…i just know down here in like decatour they go junk yards every 30 feet on this big strip and they got junkyards full of nothing but hondas and acuras i should have :bigread: first… =]
I’m sure an eBay seller would ship panels, but the problem is going to be the shipping cost. For instance, I had some replacement floor panels for my truck project shipped from North Carolina, and shipping was about $75-$100 with an extra $90 on top of that for taxes, duties, customs charges, and brokerage fees. You can avoid extra charges by using the US Postal Service instead of a courier (the above example was via UPS), but generally we pay through the nose for anything that’s too bulky or heavy to ship via mail.
The only wrecking yard I know of in SK that’s likely to have multiple G2’s is Amigo’s near Saskatoon. I found their prices to be quite high though, and they’re likely to charge even more to cut out a panel for you. And that’s if you can find a rust-free example with no damage to the rear quarters.
I would still suggest asking at a body shop. Or make your own…
tried ebay and jcwhitney also have spent many hours on google looking the best i came up with is vis racing quest widebody rear fender flares
i agree with trying to find a good one is hard… it is just rusting to bad to start replacing and who ever the hack was that fixed it the first time used fiberglass in some spots… and its a bitch to weld metal to fiberglass lol
if i had a shop id do er my self
well i tried amigos and yeah they wanted an arm and both legs for the panels im just thinkin of selling it and buying one out the states
No luck at a body shop or autobody supply store? Try calling Walker’s Auto & Body Supplies in S’toon. The owner’s a nice guy. Real easy to deal with. See if he can point you in the right direction. There must be patch panels available from a Canadian distributor somewhere…
Hey did anyone ever find quarter panels? I’m having the same problem right now with my G2.
try the dealer. be prepared to give them your right arm and your left leg though.
Tried them. 700 bucks! i laugh my way out of the dealership. i got my car for 400 bucks so why would i spent that type of money for one!
i know… just for some sheet metal with a fancy shape to it. it’s so retarded. a piece of sheet metal is like, 30 bucks. it takes like 10 seconds to stamp the shape into it. hell of a mark-up for ten seconds labour. lol
other than junk yards, or aftermarket skins (try carquest, they sell a lot of that stuff) you are probably looking at a piece of flat sheet metal and some time spent bending and shaping. if you just need the wheel-well, i know a guy on here once used front fenders from a neon to fab up some rear quarter flares. looked pretty good, if i remember correctly. if i keep my DA, i’ll be going through this while i’m getting it ready for paint next year myself. my quarters are starting to get a little ugly too.
Yeah i saw the neon flares. I’m going to try car quest. if nothing you’ll probably see another thread or a teg tip on quarter panels and flares:cross:
