I’m thinking about putting a 98 jdm ls engine in my 93. Is it a simple pnp swap? Meaning can I just plug in the obd2 harness without any problems?
It is simple as far as swaps go, but it is not a straight plug and play swap. The easiest method is to use your existing obd1 injectors, obd1 distibutor, motor mounts, and intake manifold on the new engine. I can’t remember about the pcv stuff at the moment, but you may need to swap some of it around. There’s plenty of guides online that you can find searching.
All that said, It’s the easiest swap you’ll find vs an already obd1 long block.
Always use the harness from the original car… use your stock ecu… Use your stock injectors… use your stock distributor… use your stock intake manifold.
Drop the motor in, connect the harness. Most all of the sensors are the same. Any that aren’t, take off your old motor and swap them onto the new one.
