I did a little searching and didn’t come up with what I was looking for so I posted a new thread. If you wanna show me an old thread that I didn’t find, be my guest. In all honesty, I didn’t do a very in-depth search…so I won’t be offended. Just don’t chew me out… lol
I have a DA and I DON’T have an alarm. That is bad. I need one. But, I know NOTHING about alarms. I want to get a good one. It should have keyless entry and an Imobilizer too. I kinda want to have power lock control (as in when I am driving[well, stopped really…] and want to let someone in, kinda thing) but the interior control thing isn’t a big concern. So can you give me the names (or links) to some good alarms? And if you could give me a price on the one you suggest that would be great also.
Lastly, as far as instalation goes, should I just take my car to a mechanic or what? Who installs alarms?
i bought an autopage model 315 because you can buy alot of things for it, it was 99 bucks, im going to install the trunk pop and window roll up modual. i work at a sound shop and install alarms all day, i think the best is clifferd. there very nice. then the autopage then the dei which is viper and almost everyother brand. but the autpage is very good for the money. and no you dont have to get the pager remote. as a mater of fact there a wast of money. dont get a fancy flashy pageer remote, they dont work

What do you mean pager alarms dont work there great. you could be at the store like walmart and you could tell if they are fucking with your car ,oh yeah you can also tell the differece if they are messing with your car or if a loud car just past by and made your car chrip as for the basic alarms if your in the store you wouldnt even know if your alarm go’s off …
G2WHITE if your going to fix your ride up I suggest a pager alarm. I have one its also by autopage it gos for about 280 installed at a alarm and tint shop. You should shop around the city and see what you find and you’ll also learn new things about alarms. once you find one try to find it on the net and check if its cheaper to get it your self and have some shop install it or if it’s cheaper just getting it at the shop .

dei is nearly all alarms…
INCLUDING CLIFFORD!
you can use a viper 2way pager remote for the clifford matrix…visversa
get a basic alarm with engine kill…and just stock up on other anti theft things ie: more kill swtiches, autolock, detachable steering wheel, gps tracking
dont waste all your money on a alarm only…!! create multiple “slow downs” for theives!
well i worked at a sound shop for 2 years and we dont sell them anymore, theres alot you dont know about the pager alarm, first they dotn get good reception, so if your in a bad reception area, you wont know your alarm is going off till you get in good reception. secound is there is a delay depending on where your located. go in a store and have someone set off the alarm while your on a cell with them and most alarms theres as a 3-6min delay on alerting you. call a reputable sound shop, not a small time one, and any good installer will tell you go clifford, with clifford i can give you my keys and remote to alarm and garantee you cant get my car more then a block down the road. and they offer up to 10,000 dollers in loses if yoru car is stolen with a clifferd system. varying on models. i had a pager alarm and i took it off for the clifford. which clifford has a new system where it will message your pager or cell phone. but it still has the same problem. if you dont get good reception, you dont ge the alert. i also have a club and kill switch, but yo have to face fact nomatter what the hell is on your car, if the right person wants it, its gone. engine kill dont work on a 5 speed cuz you can bump start it. the best thing to do is research the product and garantee
^^thats the beauty of a fuel pump kill switch. the engine gets no gas. so it will not run. But I know that there is no such thing as a guaruntee. There is always a way. (just get a friggin tow truck…) lol
A quick release steering wheel would probably be your most basic defense against theives besides a pretty sensitive, spendy alarm. How are they going to take your car with no steering wheel while the alarm is going off like crazy? Granted, they might take things out of your car, little trinkets, etc. or a CD player and maybe break a window, but at least you’ll still have your car. I found leaving my boyfriends pit bull loose in my DA coupled with the quick release steering wheel proves very effective. LOL
the quick release sterring wheel is so common you they can have one to pop on, but now a company did just come out with a quick release wheel that has a lock on it so you cant put a wheel on whithout a key. i had a freidn that took his ecu out everyday and they brought a ecu and took his hatch. i couldent beleave it.
