I have a 91 LS and I wanna swap a 96&up motor into it. What all do I need and how do I go about switching the OBD2? Can I make it OBD1 or does it have to stay 0 or 2? Which is the best? Ive heard that OBD1 was thats what I was asking. And is the cable to hydro conversion worth the money? In other words does it work well?

As for your question… yes you can get a obd0->obd1 conversion harness.
Or… you can strip it down, put all your stuff back on … and keep obd0.
Keep your cable gearbox.
I just did a JDM OBD2 B18B swap into my obd0 teg and alot less stuff worked than I thought. I basically re-used everything from my old motor except the block and head.

Oh, I forgot to add you might be able to use the intake manifold but I’m not sure. My B18B was from a automatic and there wasnt any way I could use the manifold in my manual teg. You might be able to use the intake manifold if its from a manual tranny car but if your motor was a auto and your car is a manual, the intake manifold will not work.
Pissed me off because I know the 90-91 manifolds are the worst of all B series and I had to use it, oh well Skunk2 is now in order I guess!
