my coolant is leaking where the coolant goes into the engine

Have you replaced your termostat and gasket? If u havent its probably time to do so as thats what is causing the leak if it is coming from within that crack that seals the termostat housing.
Anyway are you sure it is coming from within that area u circled and not from lower port? While your at it if you can change out the other little hoses that connect to the lower portion as well.
When i rebuild my motor for every hose i use silicone gasket maker as well on it then tighten the clamp for extra seal.
keep us posted if its not that that is leaking.
you can get it at ur local autopart store, for probably under $30 bucks, or get dealer. remember some stores do not come with gasket if u dont ask about it. Also make sure the temp rating is OEM not something lower as that can effect you ratio where people sometimes get grey soot in exhaust or why is idle tweaking and why not warming up fast enough.
If u already got gasket maker at home and want to save and be cheap it wouldnt hurt as i would do it too.
remove it and clean it well then apply gasket maker on the outter portion of the termo housing and let dry for around 15-20 mins top so u get a lil spongy feel then tighten it back down to seal it and let dry complete then test it.
if you plan to use new antifreeze be smart and always use water first only until u know there are no leak then u drain some and top off 50-70% of coolant. DONT do things twice buy wasting money on sec antifreeze coz it didnt seal.
Weather u use oem or whatver u DYI always use water first same goes for radiator replacement.
i think is my thermostat where you see that big hose connected to the metal under it is where it leaking
DO NOT use gasket maker on your thermostat or hoses.
If the gasket is leaking, replace the gasket (probably good idea to replace both gasket and thermostat). Using a liquid gasket type product to replace this gasket is ghetto and may not work very well. The stock gasket should be cheaper than a tube of gasket maker / sealant… whatever.
If you put any liquid gasket or sealant on your hose it’s going to be a nightmare to remove. The hose and stock clamp should be plenty good to seal things up. If it’s leaking then you probably need a new hose or maybe just need to clean the mating surface between the metal and hose.
If i’m not mistaken and thats like under your distributor, thats called the water outlet. that big hose goes to the radiator correct?
i got one from an acura dealer for like 28 bucks but thye had to order it so it took a day (ordered it friday, picked it up saturday afternoon).
if thats the water outlet, it has a bleeder screw and a smaller stem with a thinner tube on it going to behind the engine.
I didnt replace my gasket when i got the new piece and its been ok so far but i would highly recommend it, if i thought of it id’ve done it.
I second what Colin said, OEM is straight, clamps and good condition hoses will be sufficient. Just an old hose alone is a pain to remove.
FYI: if it is a water outlet that you need, the new one will not have a bleeder screw, which is better off cuz they’re aluminum pieces and mine broke off, resulting in needing a new one.
