Need help/opinions, not sure what to buy, DA or DB2???

HELP me make up my mind not sure what to get, just got an insurance quote today for the db2 and it will only be $40/month. So I’m good with either or just can’t decide cause of A/C lol

Not sure if I should buy this…

Can’t go wrong with either choice honestly. How much was the DB2?

If your an enthusiasts then get the LS. If you’re a G2 dedicated hobbyist get the DB2.

That’s just the thing though I happen to be both and I’m into having both a track car and good looking/show car. My favorite body style happens to be the gen2, so that’s why I’m at a toss between both. Only thing I don’t really like a whole lot about the gsr is it doesn’t have AC, I could care less about PS
Anyone know how much it would be to put AC back in it and how hard it would be???

Also if I end up getting the LS, I’m going to end up doing LS/V with it and then eventually doing a poor mans type r.

If I go with the DB2, I’m just going to build the head with Stage 2 brian crower parts and spoon cam gears.

How much is the DB2?

3500 and I’ve already talked to the guy with the DA and he said he would take 3200.

If the price is relatively the same then you can’t go wrong with either, both have been modded and most likely been abused.

I still say DB2 for the historic reasons.

That’s what I thought about the DB2 cause of it being rare like it is. As far as being abused, not sure if the db2 has or not, it’s owned by a mechanic, and the LS I know isn’t abused.

For what its worth, I think the DB2, although not completely as original as it should be, its definitely worth it. The goodies in the DB2 is a great find which I would love to have. I dont know about you guys but its not everyday you come across DB2 with a JDM XSi motor and a bunch of other goodies, around my area of course. For the extra 300, I’d say go for the DB2 but it doesn’t have A/C? Well, you won’t be needing it at this time of year lol.

just get em both haha…theres a dude selling a db2 on here for 7500, thats more than both of those cars together…db2 for summer da9 for winter

jfarber’s DB2 is original with low mileage and untouched. Can’t compare that.

True but in the summer I may want it, and my gf my want the AC. That’s also what I love about the DB2 is that it’s still kinda stock since this particular B16A came in our chassis.

Trust me if I could afford both I’d be all over it so quick lol

it seems both cars are in good shape. if you live in a hot place then you want a/c with the LS, you can always swap engine later on. but then again you could put a/c system in the gsr.too. maybe test drive both then decide.

By the summer it shouldn’t be a problem to have a/c installed. Do you know if the a/c components underneath the dash is still there? The parts isn’t going to be expressive, I find it fairly easy and cheap to obtain the parts for it. The only thing that will be troublesome is to get it charged. Will have to be recharged and converted to the updated stuff nowadays. I’ve seen it to cost from 200 and up but they are some DIYs on that as well.

Thanks for all the replies guys, you’re helping me make up my mind now.

Wow didn’t know it was only that much to put it back in, that’s not bad at all. Yeah I know I’d have to update it to R134 which is what I would want to do anyway. Looks like I may just end up going with the DB2.

Keep the opinions coming guys, I appreciate the help.

200+ for what a shop can charge to convert the a/c to R134. The parts to assemble the whole a/c system can vary on what you need to get.

Here is the DIY on how to do the R134 conversion http://forums.g2ic.com/showthread.php?213373-DIY-DA-R134-AC-Conversion

To be honest, both cars probably went through some beatings. I can only imagine what “fun” somebody could have with a DA. I can’t always believe someone who mods their car and says they never beat on it. Its a Honda, thats what they are basically lol. Good luck with your decision! Hope I helped you out man.

The DB2 man! its a piece of Honda history, and if the GSR is around the same price as the LS i would take the DB2. It’s just awesome to have a DB2, well not that i really know because i don’t have one. Still i would imagine it feels even better than owning an LS, which is awesome already! sorry im ranting ha but that is just exciting

I’d buy the db2 in a heart beat I’ve been looking for one in that price range that’s not beat up lol if it were local to me it would already be in the garage lol I missed out on one for a stupid reason and have regretted it for the past 3 years don’t make the mistake I did lol

Doesn’t sound like a hard decision to me. If everything checked out fine on the inspection and test drive I would definitely get the gsr. That ls sounds way overpriced.

Well I think I’m going to go with the DB2 cause I also don’t want to regret later on for not buying it. Looks like I’m going to be putting the AC back in it though, wonder what parts I’m going to need. Once I get it I’m going to make a build thread for it on here because I’m going to be completely changing it up. New paint, new rims, some carbon pieces and then do some other things as well.
Thanks guys for not letting me regret not getting this.
