So i bought an Oem front lip from the for sale forum and when i went underneath my car to bolt it on, i saw that there were no brackets to screw the lip on to. Just Big holes where each Hole from the lip meets. Are there special bolts or brackets for this? If anyone has information it would help me out alot thanks
I just used tap screws to hold it up, thats about $2 for a pack at wal-mart.
yeah
the stock lip is so thin and light, tap bolts will work just fine
Or you could, Get some washers and philips screws and bolt them up. I tried the screws before and it just made a mess after scraping it up.
:excite: ok thanks guys ill try it this week when i get some time
if your like me you can go to the dealership and buy the brackets and screws…
mugencivic4dr : I went to Acura and they told me that there were no brackets just bolts for the lip. I thought that you had to screw the lip on through those big holes underneath the bumper. What exactly did you ask for when you went?
there is a series of bolts and plastic clips that hold it to the bumper. Luckily i kept all of them when i got the lip out of the junkyard!
^^^honestly i was just refering from when i put on my OEM Si lip on my 2000 civic…havent came across a lip for my DA left…but i was looking at the bumper and clips should go there so you can screw the screws to the lip onto the bumper…
both my 90 and my 91 integra lips had the big slotted hole with metal clips the pinch over the hole and have a nut welded into them. Then like 9 little #10 bolts holding it on.
they look like this:
this was an extra clip i have sitting on my desk. too lazy to go out to take pics underneath the lip.
iogearz: Thank you Very helpful :excite: thats just what i was looking for
