Hi guys I bought a set of blades last night. They were real cheap with new tires so I jumped on them. The only thing is the clear coat is f**ked so idk if I should sand them down and try to polish them or just paint them black they look hopeless lol idk

First add some aircraft paint remover to them and wash them with soap and water. Get some mothers rim chrome polish and some wet sandpaper. Wet sand the rims and clean then polish the hell out of them. Then just clear cote them.
I would polish them but that would take a lot longer to do then to paint them but I WOULD NOT use aircraft paint remover on them.I would wet sand them with like a 400 then work my way up to 2500 grit then polish them up with some white ruge on a buffing wheel like the metal dhop do then were they are real polished out I would take them to a body dhop an have them clear them for me
NO! dont sand them! first you should use some aircraft paint stripper. see what you come up with after that. then use like a red scotch brite and scuff them up then start polishing them
So tonight I started sanding the wheels and am pleased with the progress I only did 2 because I was dying by the second one lol. Ill finish the rest tomorrow and have more pics thanks guys.

Gl man i got 2sets and im not looking forward to great syart so far how do u plan on polishing them. ? By hand or power tools
Id do it by hand as a power tool can burn the aluminum if your to ruff. And you don’t get them swirl marks.
I refinished a set a couple years ago. I loved how it turned out but it does take a lot of elbow grease
I do mine by hand but my boy uses a buffer wheel n his come out o so sexy
