alright well i have a 91 ls and i passed smog the other day well my bro took his 90 gs today to the same guy and he failed due to the egr valve and me and my bro looked and i cant find it so if someone can take a pic of where its at that would be great. please need to know asap
An EGR looks roughly like:
Should be located on the Intake Manifold.
i looked all over my ls and his gs and cant find nothing where at on the intake manifold
Its only present on Automatic cars. If the car isn’t automatic, he may be running the wrong ecu (an auto ecu in a manual car = no bueno).
Is the car throwing a CEL for the EGR fault? What ECU is in the car? Is it Automatic or Manual?
well its automatic and he has no check engine light on i found the plug on the harness by his manifold and the technician told us the person he got it from may of put another motor in
also if this isnt the original motor is the another way to install a egr valve or what could we do because thats all he needs to pass smog.
I believe the intake manifolds may be different. Cross-reference part numbers on acuraoemparts.com for a MT intake mani and an AT intake mani…
If indeed the motor was swapped with one from an MT car, that could verywell be the issue.
the intake manifold is different. the egr should be located under were the fuel line enters the fuel rail. not sure on finding another route around it…
alright thanks guys i guess ill tell him to get a smog extension and just go to the junkyard and get AT manifold
Post a picture of the engine and intake manifold.
i cant find my camera right now but the manifold is just like a MT manifold and on my bros car theres a plug that is hanging on the harness by the fuel line that goes to the rail
