Any body has this problem. My distributor is making a ugly squeaky noise, I opened the cap and found out that the rotor was hitting the four points inside the cap and i like to know what can I do to stop the rotor from hitting the points on the cap
please post your replys help me.
The rotor is supposed to hit those 4 points. That is what sends the spark through the wires…
That noise that you are hearing is probably your distributor bearing starting to go. Get that distributor replaced ASAP or you could be in for a really big headache. If that bearing seizes then your timing belt is gone, and maybe the rest of your engine with it if your at a high enough rpm when it goes.

Once again such a very intelligent person, I would have worded my post the same exact way… You can also find the bearing and rebuild he dist. buy its eaiser to just buy a new one…
Thanks Jeff. You are right about rebuilding the distributor but with how many of those are going around lately it isnt really worth the time invested in rebuilding it and buying the bearing. You can just keep it around for extra parts or something and pick up a distributor from someone that is doing an ls/vtec or crvtec…
