Need Help With My Head Unit...

well i bought this iPlay ipod adapter thing, and i figured i could just plug it into my cd changer rcas, but i have no idea how to make that work, like how do i put it into cd changer mode or whatever, my head unit is a Panasonic CQ-C1300U, please help if you can

from browsing the manual you can download from the website, your headunit doesn’t have aux inputs. the RCA jacks in the back are outputs.

If CD changer does not come up when pressing source button, then the audio inputs can not be used without the HU “seeing” a changer plugged into the HU, if no load is detected at the changer port the source button will only switch between CD and radio.
You need another adapter… http://ipodcarparts.com/panasonic-radio-ipod-interface-p-238.html :uhoh:94

Do you think if i was to just have the cord that plugs into the other plug from the cd changer, besides the RCA’s, do you think that would work if i just had my ipod go into the RCA inputs, so basically trick the head unit into thinking there is a cd changer plugged in, but there isnt, if you catch my drift, im probably not explaining myself very clearly

I cant speak for panasonic but with Pioneer you can use the cd changer input and a home-made cable without any rca’s or anything. I just ran a
1\8 headphone jack on a cable out from the back and plug it into my ipod that’s mounted on a type s cup holder on the dash.

heres the link for the Pioneer http://stereophonik.com/gutterslide/IP-BUS_Hack/

Not sure if that would work to trick yours…Maybe someone’s done one for Panasonic?

I love this mod!

No, you would need the changer also.

And your right, @ $100 it would be better to just get a new HU, but not just one with an AUX input, get one that is an iPod controller, although that will be more then $100.:stare:94
