need help with paint question

So my car was repainted by the guy i got it from, he told me it was painted back to the original color, wich i beleive to be NH-526M Flint Black Metallic

BUT… my paint has like a gold pearl flake in it… was this added by the guy who painted it? or was this actual OEM paint scheme ?

for a while i thought that it was OE because i was at a scrap yard and i wiped off a black 92 integra and i could swear i saw the pearl in it… i need to paint my hood and fender that got banged up… so im just trying to get in the right direction by buying the correct paint.

thanks in advance

also if anybody knows… how much paint am i looking at to just paint a hood and 1 fender, and maybe a touch up on the bumper… 1 quart seems to be the biggest i can find it in… 1 or 2 of them?

I have no clue for sure what the black is that our cars came with…

Www.PaintScratch.com has a good way of looking up year/make/model and all the colors for that given year.

Paint can be bought in all sizes… Pint, Quart, Gallon… I’d go with two quarts just to be safe.

Regardless of what paint code was used, the BEST way to get an accurate paint is to have them match a piece off the car. We typically take a fuel door down… Along with the paint code (if possible) they can use the code, as well as the fuel door, to dial in the correct amount of pearl and metallic.

Well I was just going off what I could find for color codes for my year integra, and I was just going to order paint from the internet lol…

So I could hypothetically just go to a local body/paint shop with my car and they could match / mix me the correct paint?

sounds like its Grenada Black cause that has gold pearl in it. Ill check tommorow if Flint black has good pearl in it or not

You don’t need to take the entire car… take your fuel door off and take it to them with the paint code.

I’d much prefer to get paint locally versus online. Don’t have to pay for shipping that way… Not to mention its easier to deal with a local place if things go wrong.

My car is flint black, it has pearl in it but not gold. Look at my front fender

is that purple flake?

one pint is enough if you get decent paint, as you would use reducer to make it a quart mixed. I had used 1 quart and painted my car with plenty left over.
Just an opinion of what I did.
