I live in north Ca and im selling my teg, i was wondering what all needs to be done with the DMV and stuff so im not responsible for it anymore in case dude gets in a wreak or something.

if you really want less hassles, return the car back to stock conditions. a person buying a stock car will have less concerns on the condition whereas if it was fixed up. Not only that but, the resale value of the car goes down if the car is fixed up. When you sell the car, have the buyer sign a form with something like this:

I___________(your name) am selling (yr of car)____(model) with __________(milege) AS IS(don’t forget this) to ___________(buyer) for the price of _______

_________(signature of seller,date) _____________ (signature of buyer)

Go to the DMV and pick up a “RELEASE OF LIABILITY” form. This informs the DMV that you are no longer responsible for the vehicle
