I have a 6 Channel Kicker 356XI amp. I have it powering my front and rear speakers along with a 12inch sub. Only thing is that its not mounted anywhere. Its just sitting in my trunk. I want to mount it to my rear left seat. I was wondering if you guys can fill me in. I was thinking about making some small brackets to go around the fabric so that i dont have to drill holes through the seats. FYI, I don’t like cutting things that are OEM, especially my interior pieces. Can you guys show me on how to mount an amp on the back of a DA/DB? please provide pictures too.
you might be able to use those metal band things(not sure what they are called they are bendable metal strips with holes in them) and bend them around the carpet…and bolt them to the back of seats and around the carpet to amp…might not be very sturdy though…thats all I can think of that would work…:S…I would suggest going to home depot or some other hardware store and looking around…many ideals can be come up with there…:D…if you just make small strait cuts they are hardly noticeable afterwards…
I also must ask what kinda of sub are you running and how does it sound with that amp running all 5 speakers?that just seems like a little much for that amp… kinda curious…

I have 5.25 fosgate punch speakers for front and rear and 1 12 inch kicker competition sub(yellow one). Hits very well. No Problems at All.
amp on the box is what i did on a old setup. then when i was ripped off i thought, that must have been easy to take (i had my cap on the box too). if you mount it to anything like the rear seat or the bottom of the trunk, at least they spend more time. possibly to get caught. also installing it with hex screws or something that requires special tools might help secure it. i would consider the back of the seat because if it was crazy hot you can put the seat down to cool it quick.
Well, how trick of an install do you want to do? There is alot of ways this can go. You could just bolt the amp to the back of the seat, there lots of metal there and little srew holes will be left after removal. You could also cut a piece of MDF that matches the pattern of the seat, throw some carpet on it, bolt that to the seat back, then bolt the amp to that. A false floor would be the most trick but that would be time and money. Sounds like monting the amp on the box is outtta the question, but it does make a clean install.
amp on box is usually the easiest way…but also the easiest set up to steal…I am going to be building 2 custom amp racks for the rear one in each corner of the trunk…seemed like the best option…
Damn thats hella Clean. Yea im tryna find out a way on how to install it. I dont mind having wholes on the metal seat, but i just dont like wholes on my carpet if I plan on taking it back out or if it were to go out. Im thinking of just making 4 brackets to hold the amp.
